jde123 (704), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 5, 2008 Jasper Maibock at the 2008 goat races in Phoenixville. Poured dark and malty and hazy. Definitely a maibock - not a whole lot of character, just a decent beer on a spring day taking in ruminant races.
Goodgrief (1013), Middletown, Delaware, USA Aug 17, 2007 July 2005 - Slightly darker pour then the Hellesbock. Very smooth taste but a little thin on flavor. Sweet malty taste. Good beer. Drink with a fleet footed goat. whaleman (2168), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 26, 2007 Sundae Maibock on draught at Royersford. Clear, lustrous gold body with a lingering, sudsy white head. Subdued, light spicy nose. Flavor has very clean lager characters of biscuit and honey, plus a toasty edge in the background. Well-integrated alcohol and malt and not overly sweet. Not among my favorite styles, but this is a solid maibock.
JB175 (1319), Holland, Pennsylvania, USA May 17, 2007 Golden-Amber color with a medium head. Grainy-sweet aroma. Taste has lots of fresh-milled grains, honey, bready malts. Nice Maibock. Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 10, 2007 Draft at the Phoenixville location, July 2006, named Han Maibock. An orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is very light with notes of caramel and butterscotch. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of caramel and butterscotch, but also with light citrusy notes from the hops, leading to a dry and slightly bitter end, where the caramel keeps lingering.
