COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Russian Imperial Stout was poured for the first time as part of our 12/14/12 Anniversary celebration in Phoenixville as a draught only release. It is a full bodied beer with a rich, roasty malt character and subtle alcohol warmth.

Pours thick unclear blackish with a dark caramel colored head. Aroma brings some raw dough, bottles 3 years ago. Flavor is chocolatey with some aged yeast that has held up okay and charred roasty malts at the end.

appearance: dark brown to black, one finger of creamy tan head. aroma: hugely aromatic; tons of sweet dark chocolate, vanilla, caramel, molasses, licorice, and plums. taste: bittersweet dark chocolate, sweet bourbon, molasses and prunes and plums and some raisin; undertone of roasty coffee and black bread. finish:lasting sweetness fades, leaving general chocolate, roast, and a hint of black licorice. notes: Unbelievably good. ABV incredibly well-hidden. Flavors and aroma were excellent. Bottle from the Rare Beer Club, aged for 2+ years, which may have mellowed things out a bit. This was special.

kramer (5757) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 5, 2014
Bottle. Pours a clear black body under a one finger fizzy brown head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is very roasty with lots of coffee, some moderate alcohol, and some burnt malt notes. The flavor is very burnt and roasty with a heavy burnt coffee finish. Fairly well hidden alcohol, but there’s a bit of heat on the finish. Medium bodied with a little too much fizzy active carbonation. Decent beer, but nothing that stands out especially.

Cork bomber to snifter. Pours an opaque dark brown / black with a dense tan head that remains the whole time. Good lacing. Deep rich scents of fruit, and coffee, and roasted malts. Not much hop character, however it does have a good bitter twinge. The 10%abv is blended well. Lots of fruit notes, especially prune, and dates.
