3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAY 24, 2007 Translucent burgundy-brown body with a small, silky, light tan head. Nice malt profile with notes of roasted coffee beans and light cocoa. Roasty flavor with notable spicy hop character; medium sweet with substantial bitterness. Medium bodied and smooth. Carries some distinct signatures of the O’Reilly Stout, but ramped up and a little sweeter. Nice stout overall.

Ever been at a party and grap the wrong beer thinking it was yours but you get the one everybody has been putting out their cigerette buts in??? That was my experience with this beer... Had it on tap at Andy’s Corner Bar in Bogota NJ.- an exceptional place for the beer lover- but my god was this horrible, If it wasn’t Andy’s I would have thought they hadn’t cleaned the lines in a few months... Sorry guy’s... Terrible.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
10oz draft, at Phoenixville location 2/1/07. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, under a small foamy brown head. Lots of heavy lacing. Nice roasty aroma with some coffee and light licorice. A little oatmeal coming through. Nice roasted malt flavor with some smooth oatmeal rounding things out. Finishes on the drier side with lots of coffee. Mouthfeel is soft and well rounded with light soft carbonation. A little sticky on the finish. Overall a pretty nice stout. The oatmeal adds to the body keeping it from being too watery.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A very nice start and finish to this one. I am more of a fan of imperial stuts, but the full flavor of this beer is comparable. It’s depth isn’t amazing, but it’s appreciated to get what you expect. I favor this over the Fox’s O’Reilley’s Stout any day. Good finish. Yes, thinner than one would expect, actually making this a more drinkable brew. I recommend in a fluted glass. Something different about the reveal of this vs. a pint or imperial pint.

Flavor of chocolate, lactose, hints of creamy coffee, oatmeal, nuts, nice mouthfeel...very well done Oatmeal Stout.

Draught. Roasted malt taste accompanies the standard of a dark stout with a tan head. Seems finished well however -- leaving little hint of residual sugars. Hoppy tingle. Hints of walnuts or nuts more than coffee or chocolate.
