COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Odyssey is an Imperial, or Double, IPA brewed with an assortment of hop varieties, and lots of them! Near orange in color, Odyssey is medium-bodied and (obviously) hoppy, with pleasant alcohol hints in the nose and finish.

UPDATED: MAY 11, 2006 Cask... Poured a hazy amber color with a thin, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, citrus, caramel malt, and light spices. Taste was full of citrus fruits, pine resin, and caramel malt, lightly dry, bitter finish, with a touch of alcohol as well. More enjoyable than last years, perhaps its a higher percentage of noble hops this year. These IPA project parties really suck the tastebuds out of you.

Cask... Poured a hazy golden orange color with a small off white head, that left nice, spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of wet hops, pine, resin, and sweet orange citrus hops. Taste of bitter citrus hops, tasted very young with no malt character at all. Almost tasted lightly sour, I hope this develops more malt down the road.

Share with Bish and my Thomas Hooper t-shirt that got soaked in my rush to neck this before leaving. Odyssey seems about right, it was a long and enjoyable voyage through beer. I’m smiling thinking about the adventure. Cheers all who participated.

Classic US DIPA. Big, fat, full in your face caramel malts. Super sized, this is serious. Dom poured half of it down the sides of his mouth, true rock n roll. Far more rock n roll than leaving 1/2 a glass on the table. Too much too late.

Bomber split wth Tomaz @ home.

Can offering..thought I had rated this before..guess not..nice looking double from a can..aroma is nice..getting mostly notes of honey and caramel with the hops on the end..quite easy drinking and flavorful..however wanted a bit more citrusy notes that seemed overpowered by the rest..

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; clear copper pour with off white head, sweet malt and toffee aroma, forward taste is sweet malts biscuity which is backed up by tropical hops orange grapefruit bitter, not as massively hopped as other USA DIPA’s but very good nonetheless.

Hazy amber pour with Thin off-white head. Sticky and British-styled. grainy notes. strong floral hops nose. honey-sweet malts middle. bitter almost astringent finish. More malty than hoppy but not too bad.

Pours a light amber color with a foamy/frothy head greatly laced. Aromas of light pine/citrus, caramel, grass. Flavors of sweet resin pine/citrus hops, caramel backbone, light citrus orange, and a hint of grass. Medium to high sweet for an IMP IPA, medium to high bitterness, more balanced than not, and the alcohol can only be slightly noticed. A little to sweet for me overall, and the hop flavors didn’t pair well for my taste. Still a decent DIPA.
