Transfer from BA review on 5-28-12 - Served on nitro -tap in a pint glass Appearance – Served a deep black color with the off white carbonation/nitrogen bubbles streaming through the brew to form a thick off white head. While it is always a beautiful sight this beer was not quite as impressive as others I have seen as the color contrast between the nitrogen/carbonation bubbles and the brew was not as intense. Smell – As with most dry stouts this one was rather subtle in the aroma department. Light roasted and burnt aromas of bread mixed with a very mellow coffee aroma are all that was really detected. Taste – The taste was mostly of the roasted bread flavor with just a bit sweeter up front. The light sweetness, while present initially, faded fast to more roasted notes with some of the burnt bread and coffee flavors come to the tongue. The flavors level out in intensity overtime and leave a dry roasty taste on the tongue in the end. Mouthfeel – Creamy like a nitrogen driven brew should be. I always love the smoothness of these brews. The creamy body is matched with a good level of effervescence creating a pleasant mouthfeel overall. Overall - While it is a pretty tasty nitro-dry Irish stout it is nothing too spectacular. It’s worth a try, but nothing to go out of your way for.

About as similar to Guinness as I have found. It does not have as "heavy" or thick as I would like. Kind if reminds me of a dark Guinness Light.

On Tap @ Pinebox Rockshop - Brooklyn - Pours a watery dark black with a hint of reddish hue and light beige head. Aromas faint, mostly malt. Flavor is sweet maltiness with roasted barley, chocolate, some hops, hints of cofee and cream. Lingering bitter malt finish. Best enjoyed while detailing the your strategy for war if you were suddenly nominated to 4-Star General in the event of a WWIII deployment!
