Light, not much of a body. Some toasted grain aroma, a growing smokiness, and there is a pronounced character of roasted malt and soot in the finish.

[108-20061118] Tap @ Smokin’ Joes (Pittsburgh, PA). Not much there for the aroma, but nothing offensive either. Dark dark brown body with a creamy off-white head. Chocolate hoppy watery stout flavour with a roasted aftertaste. Full body with a slightly watered-down feeling. Comes together nicely.

Draft pint at the Standard Tap, Philadelphia. Nice cascade of a head into a thick blanket of creamy foam. Wonderful head retention and lacing. Pleasant java aroma. Roasty and toasty with a light bittering edge. Woodsy, bitter, great on this chilly night. Awesome stout. (#3186, 11/8/2007)
