sinkr (123), Lusby, Maryland, USA Mar 26, 2008 Draft->shaker: Pours a large, creamy, light brown head that is lasting and has spare lacing atop of a black body. The aroma is of roasted caramel and/or cereal with light yeast in there as well. The body is medium and creamy. The duration is between average and long with some light acidity. All-in-all, I enjoyed this beer tremendously and seemed to be heading more towards an imperial stout. A definite winner from a fine brewery.
joeymacaroni (43), West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 11, 2008 On tap at the Four Dogs Tavern. nice creamy light tan stout head of liquid velvet with lots of lacing. cascades nicely when poured. Loads of chocolate and roasted coffee make this a great sipper. Awesome dry finish. A solid stout! soyorganic (103), Denver, Colorado, USA Jun 7, 2008 Draught: Black color with tan head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Light carbonation with a nice malt flavor and slight dry bitterness. However it was a little thin and without backbone. Rciesla (712), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Jun 1, 2008 Nitro. Pours a black body with no head. Aroma is roasted malt and bitterness. Flavor is such with little chocolate character. A thin bodied beer in mouth feel and a dry finish. Uneventful. Kerath (5), USA does not count May 31, 2008 Draft. A solid stout but unfortunately it lacks enough character to make it stand out. illinismitty (1361), Nashville, Tennessee, USA May 4, 2008 Draft at Phoenixville. Pours black with a creamy dense tan head. Typical creamy nitro texture with good lacing. Flavor of dark unsweetened chocolate and dark roasted malts. Not much residual sweetness and very dry on the palate. Some faint astringency on the finish. Not bad and true to style. A bit too dry for my tastes.
