Canned....Its Aroma has a slight caramelly wiff to the nostrals. It appears to be light amber. It tastes citrusy with a few pine cones tossed in. Then a slight kick of sweetness thats sooths the palate. Big bang hop then it stops. It was ok, love the craft cans!

Can. Amber gold with an off white head. Aromas are biscuit, grain and oranges with nutty lager malts. Soft floral hops with light soapiness. Flavours are clean grain with low woody pine and herbal aspects. Leafy with coriander. Mellow oranges and lemon with a dry finish. Decent.

I poured a 12oz can into a mason jar. I was canned on 1/8/14 and cost $2.65 ($0.22 per ounce).

Appearance: Slightly hazy shade of orange/copper. Pours an average sized, off white, foamy head which laces and retains fairly well.

Smell: Sweet malty scent with orange marmalade notes.

Taste: Sly Fox Phoenix Pale Ale is not your typical American pale ale, in fact it’s probably better classified as a British pale. The British malt character seems to be the star of the show as it imparts a distinct malt character you don’t find in American offerings. Orange marmalade is the predominate flavor, coupled with light nutty character and perhaps some toasted bread. The hops impart some mild spicy/dry bitterness, though they also accentuate the orange taste. Additional sweetness on the finish, which is nice. While this palette is satisfying, it’s a little average and familiar. Perhaps the age of the can has diminished the beer a little, but it’s still more than decent.

Drinkability: This beer has exactly the mouthfeel and drinkability you expect in the style. Medium body, crisp mouthfeel, refreshing for a moment, but a little residual dryness. At 5.1% ABV it’s not particularly heavy nor robust, though not light enough to session. Sly Fox Phoenix Pale Ale works fine as a standalone beverage.

Orange-goldenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig fruchtig, hopfig, blumig. Geschmack leicht nach tropischen Früchten, malzig, leicht bitterer Abgang.

Can in Kosovo, with huge thanks to ippopotamo36! Coppery orange. Soft off white foam. Pale soft citrus hop. Ambery malt. Balanced, malt forward, honey grain sweetness, orange marmalade. Rich. Dry bread, minerally water, calcium. Not a great finish to an otherwise good pale ale.

Kind of average pale ale, fesh and fruity, but with an spicy and tangy aftertaste that stands and lasts in the tongue.

Can at Relish, Sheffield. Pour amber with a white head. Quite a light, hoppy and drinkable number. Some good tropical fruit notes on the bitter finish.

Can at the Union Tavern. It pours clear orange-amber with a medium white head. The nose is toast, earth, wood, orange, sherbet and sweet dough. The taste is crisp, bitter-sweet, orange, light bitterness, sherbet and pepper with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Easy drinking, but lacks punch.

Orange pour from can, 3/4 finger of foam, white. Slight cloudiness. Small to medium body, strong hop bitter in the finish, notes of grapefruit and spice. Very easy to drink, very affordable. Great spring brew.
