Can from Rehills, Newcastle. Thie is a pale golden beer with a malty and slight floral hoppy flavour, fruity notes and a slight spicy and woody finish.

Finally...a good pilsner that doesn’t come in a green bottle, thus no skunky smell. Great taste, looks great in my pilsner glass, and makes for a wonderful session beer. A good summer beer, since it isn’t overwhelmed with hops or syrupy mouthfeel. I will be buying this again!

Finally! An American pils that can rival its German and Czech counterparts. The perfect balance of malt and hop makes the drinker feel like she is in the old country. Even better than Prima, Brooklyn, or Lagunitas. Every beer lover should drink this brew because I’d let it go head to head with Mahrs, Kapuziner, Koutske, Urquell (depending on the venue), High and Mighty BOG, or anything along the lines of crisp, balanced, flavorful beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours with a slight haze, pale yellow and a terrific head of white cloud like foam that settled eventually to a rocky cap that never faded. It never really had the chance to fade either but I’ll talk about that in a minute. Bubbles leisurely making their way to the top and some hit or miss lacing. Nose is light sweet lemon and a quick hint of orange. Deep malt without much sweetness except for the natural sweet scent you might associate with toasted grain. Pale. A touch of yeast sour and soft spice. Grassy and herbal. Taste is clear, clean and travels the palate as quickly as water. Leaves plenty of breaddy biscuit at the back of the throat to linger with a soft mineral quality. Smooth round malt, abundant and hospitable. It has a pleasant aftertaste and that is where you will find a gentle prickle of spice and a touch of bitter. Mouthfeel is soft and creamy. It has a white fruit in the overall flavor but it’s very soft and subtle. Pear.
This is a kind and gentle pils. It drinks so easily that the foam doesn’t even have a chance to fall before you have drained the glass. The citrus stays sweet and the small tart aspect of the lemon blends with the yeasty sour. This beer has no rough edges or seams. It’s mineral quality makes it especially clean and refreshing. The delicate touch of spice made it cheerful. You can picture it on the table in a pitcher, easily forthcoming.
