4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
July 2005 - Wow, this is an excellent IPA! Iím not a hophead, so IPAís arenít really my thing, but if you like them, itís worth the trip for this brew alone if available. Poured a beautiful dark brown with nice head and lacing. I was surprised by the depth of malty flavor and I really loved the hop finish. Other IPA makers, grab a pint and start taking notes!

Draft at the Phoenixville Brewpub. Bitter hop bite with a dry finish. Not one of my favorite hops.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught in Phoenixville: This one pours a cloudy orangish-amber color. There was a small white head to it. It has a balanced hop nose, with notes of cirtus and floral. The taste doesnít have the bite of some other IPAís. The flavor is more subdued, but not weak by any stretch of the imagination. There is a full maly body to it. I got a bit more hop flavor in the aftertaste, but still no "bite". Very good!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Some of my friends thought this was one of the better IPAís this year. Progress has a nice floral hop aroma similar to the Willamette. Flavor was a bit subdued, lightly fruity and a bit herbal. Finish isnt as bitter as some of the other IPAís in the project.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Not as hoppy as most of the other IPAís in the Project, deep amber color with a orange hue, thick off-white head with nice lacing around the glass, citrus & hops in the nose, more citrus & hops in the flavors of course with other notes of caramel & fruits, moderately bitter finish, a very nice IPA

On tap at the Sly Fox in Royersford. Poured a medium amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of light citrus and caramel. Grassy tasting with light caramel. Medium hoppy bitter bite.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the Royersford location. Poured a light amber with a small head. Weak aroma with some hop pressence. A stron dryl feel coming through in the flavor, almost on the sour hop end. Had something differnet going on for an IPA, but not something I was that impressed with.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Had this at the Royersford location last weekend. Deep copper pour with medium, creamy head. Aroma of bready caramel malt, subdued hops. Tastes ryeish, lemongrassy, with a unique oaky mid palate that led to a slightly rauchy finish. Wonderfully unique for an IPA...Iíve never had an IPA that tasted even remotely like this one. Complex finish with an almost scotch ale quality as it warmed. Fabulous!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured a copper color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, floral hops, caramel malts, and light pine in the background. Taste of lightly sweet caramel, dry wood, and a moderate hop bitterness in the finish.
