Pours very dark mahogany, almost black with some beige head lacing. Sweet nose. Flavors are very sweet. Chocolate and smoked peat dominate the taste. Very well crafted brew. obxdude10 (1556), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 19, 2005 Dark reddish deep brown, fully covered by a large-sized lasting creamy beige topping. Besetting bready yeastiness remains shy besides the dominant toasted and chocolatey malts. Nuts, cereals and plum variations on the malt theme lift the mellow peaty smokiness to a warming level, though procuring more roasty bitterness than I’d imagined. Oaky, mineral palate. Medium bodied, creamy texture, foamy carbonation. Cool experiment certainly, but with the early skyscraper scores, I was expecting something bigger or smokier. beerbuzzmontreal (2911), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 18, 2005 Pours a dark brown color with a thin light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt with chocolate and fruits. Good flavor of chocolate, fruits and a roasted malt that isn’t as round and rich as I thought it would be, the finish is bitter. The palate is light and creamy with soft carbonation. This is a good porter but I didn’t find any trace of smoked malt and I found this ambitious beer promising but lacking in the delivery. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 13, 2005 The Lure: Cocoa shavings bring forth sweetness, while roastiness tickles. An evident dessert beer, but not as orgasmic as was hoped.
The Festivities: Sweet chocolate malt proliferates into the roastiness, as orange-like fruitiness attempts to diversify and lighten this after-meal special. Frothy carbonation surprises and bothers at times, as does the lack of the smokiness purported.
Transcendence: Creation is a scary, ambitious undertaking. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 20, 2005 On Draft at Phoenixville location. Pours a dark ruby with a small head. Aroma is conspicuously faint on this one, roasted malt and coca-cola, but no smoke to be had with this one. Flavor is of roasted malt, chocolate, plums, and a low level of smoke. NIce medium body, maybe a little too fizzy, but with a long finish. A little disappointed in this one. When the menu says Smoked beer I want some smoke man! It does come out a little in the finish, but too little and too late. Drinkable, but I didn’t find it as wonderful as the rest of the folks here. TomDecapolis (3162), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 18, 2005 Picked up a growler of this from the brewery. Poured almost black at first site, but as I held it up to the light you could see it was more of a dark brown with some amber. Head was light tan and left some lacing. Aroma is sweet caramel, also picking up some lactose and smoke. The feel was smooth and creamy. The smoke was up front but not over powering. Was also picking up some coffee, chocolate and some darker fruits. One of the best Porters I’ve had. Great job Sly Fox. weeare138 (936), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA

Appears a dark brown with a 1 finger tan head and a nice tan collar. Decent lacing is left behind.
Smell is of sweet lacto sugar and slight chocolate and smokiness that fits in well with this beer.
Taste is exellent, if not the best smoked(imperial) porter I’ve ever had. Chocolate with cream and a touch of smoke.
Mouthfeel is excellent with the carbs flowing perfectly through the mouth.
Drinkability is kick ass. Best beer by Brian O that I’ve had in a long time.
