Funknmilla (501), Absecon, New Jersey, USA Apr 26, 2008 Draft Phoenixville...no head by the time it was brought out....orange body with a slight haze to it...aromas of sweet malt and whiskey?.....initial sip is sweet with a vanilla almond taste.....a tad fruity but seems muddled in the alcohol heat mid-palate....a bit of bitter bite in the finish...medium lightly creamed body with little to no carbonation...seems like there are more distinct flavors to be found but the sweet overwhelms the senses...just lots of bitter sweet vanilla
lebshiff21 (22), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 13, 2008 From a sixtel I purchased at the Beer Yard in Wayne. Golden, thin creamy head. Sweet aroma, can definitely smell the "Belgian" in it. Scarily drinkable, crisp, clean, slightly fruity. sinkr (123), Lusby, Maryland, USA Mar 24, 2008 Draft->juice glass (tasting@brewery): Pours a small, diminishing head atop of a light amber body. Aroma is lightly of malt and hops, with the hops having a hint of herb to them, followed up, perhaps by some soapiness and raisin.
The body is medium, the texture is of minerals, flat carbo, and a bitter finish. The duration of the taste is long, moderately acidic and bitter. Not a bad beer, but largely uninspiring. adrian910ss (1000), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 12, 2008 On tap at the GL. Pours a clear light golden copper with a small white head. Aroma of coriander, black pepper, yeast and other spices. Taste is peppery with notes of coriander and black pepper. acrdz (4228), Pennsylvania, USA Mar 2, 2008 Draft at Sly Fox. Clear dark yellow golden body, with a tall, pillowy white head, about 1/2 inch thick after it settles. Super sweet nose of Belgian candy sugar, sweet syrupy and sharp malt (clean), some lighter spiced fruit and whatnot, but mostly this is just heavy with a sugary candy and malt flavor, like a simple or uncomplicated tripel, without any dryness. Flavors of clove, coriander and anise are present but very minimal, and mostly it’s just overly syrupy and sweet.
