12 oz. can from willblake. Pour is a hazy orange gold with a nice big white head. Aroma is bananas, wheat and earthy yeastiness. Taste is really spicy, with cloves, banana and a bunch of wheat. Real nice, slightly tart wet finish. Some citrus in the body as well. This is certainly the best Hefeweizen I have had in a can. Very refreshing. Thanks Jon!

Thanks to the mystery swap 2.0 (doclock?) for this undated 12oz can. Pours a cloudy orange with hints of yellow and 1 1/2 finger white head. Retention is low, but with a little rousing it picks back up nicely. Aroma of banana, wheat, yeast, a little grain and clove, and a tinge of burnt plastic. Some lemon does make itself apparent. Flavor has a good amount of lemon, wheat, and banana (not necessarily in that order), not really a lot of clove, though there is some spiciness. This isn’t terribly sweet by any means, but for sure almost no bitterness. Lemony wheaty finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation. A good rendition of a German hefe.

Canned. Beer is hazy light caramel brown with a small, white, frothy, quickly and mostly diminishing head. Clingy ring of lacing left behind.
The aroma is malty with light notes of toasted bread crust, cracker; Hoppy with a light floral note; Trace yeast notes of plastic, sweat; Moderate miscellaneous note of unripe banana and clove, trace of bubble gum.
The flavor is light/moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter with a long, moderately/heavily bitter, lightly sweet, lightly acidic finish.
The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.
Not out of the park, but solid enough.

Can. Head is initially large, frothy, white, fully lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread/grain, popcorn), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with light notes of banana, clove, and butter. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. It seems like there’s some diacetyl lurking in this sample, but I could be wrong. This seems really promising, but as-is it’s a bit disappointing.

12 oz can (thanks to whoever sent this..i think Doclock!). Pours a hazy amber with a huge chunky head. Nose is bananna and spice. Taste start sweet then turns spicy ala coriander, then some fruitiness, banannas and strawberries, and some mild eathy/herbal hops in the finish. Light body, high carbonation. This is one of my least favorite styles but this one is actually pretty good.

12oz can. Murky yellow-gold with a huge rocky white head. Heavy yeast aromatics, clove, banana, and tinges of bubblegum. Grainy wheat with minor vegetal hop tones up front. Spicy phenols then dominate, some fruity esters compliment. Tangy wheat tinge in the finish, with long residual clove and bubblegum. Mouthfeel is a medium light, rather smooth.

From the willblake gift pack, of which I am really not worthy! Nice banana and clove, not bubblegummy. Definitely a little more spicy, hoppy (grassy, dry) than other hefes. Overall dry and very drinkable. Even when warm, doesn’t fall apart into still, heavy acridness. Very good interpretation!

Nice crisp wheat aroma, pours a cloudy light tan with a small, fluffy, white head. Nice sweet wheat flavor, crisp carbonation cleanses the palate after each sip. Very drinkable wheat ale.
