A VERY good wheat beer. Cloudy unfiltered beige color with a little head. Very smooth going down and just brimming with banana/clovey/yeasty flavor. Not overly complex, but very full and flavorful. Excelle

Can (12oz). I’ll tell you what, that’s a fine lookin’ wheat! Cloudy orange-yellow, good fluffy-fizzy off-white lasting head (4+). . Rich, estery aroma of banana, light lemon, sweet malt and floral hops - very nice. Taste follows, a little more emphasis on the floral/herbal hops (grassy & fresh), with some apple joining the banana fruit. Fairly thick, chewy body, lightly acidic, great carbonation - finishes crisp and medium-long for hefe - pretty danged good beer! And in a can too.

From the chef at Rouge during the Gary Maddox rib challenge in Philly. Nice flavor from a can. Good aroma. Worth a try.

Pours very thick and hazy, golden orange. Aroma suggests butterscotch, banana, and chlorine. A late hint of honey. Crisp and spicy taste of a pristine standard quality. Wheat, orange blossom and wood. An ample pallet of biscuit malt beneath. A hot bite of green onion and chives at the finish, earthy and a little hot. Traces of prolonged honey sweetness soak in slowly after swallowing. Easy as water to drink. Palate resonates with bitter, herbal spice. Subtly detailed. First rate. Thanks Andrew!

Can. An easy pour stimulates a thick, creamy, dimpled off-white head with superb retention. Slow recession leaves behind thick lacing and a cottage cheese-like texture atop the foam topping. The body is very cloudy, the color of apricot puree, settling down slowly and forming layers of different shades of ornage and yellow. The nose is full of ripe banana notes and plenty of yeast and wheat. Clove notes are minor, but adequate for the style. Additions include other fruit scents such as lemon and orange, dough, toasted grains, earth. Light hops are evident, as well as an odd touch of vegetation that’s thankfully very slight. Very nice so far. The flavor is adequately spiced without venturiong overboard. Banana is still heavy but supplemented now by plenty of hops and toasted malt. Clove and additional spice character are full and very well interlaced in the flavor. Sweetness is medium, bitterness light. The acidity is medium-high but just performs as a saw that cuts calmly through the sweet malt and fruit notes. Finishes balanced, leaning toward sweet, lengthy and eventually fades to a dry and banana tinged finish. The mouthfeel is light-medium bodied, with medium-high carbonation and great texture. This is a very good beer. I can sense some flaws but the symphony of aromas and tastes do a fine job covering them up.

From my Secret Santa! Pours a cloudy light orange with a medium white head. Big, orange citrus aroma, wheat, a little spice in there too. Clove and nutmeg come to mind. The taste is very full-flavored from the get-go. There is lot of orange citrus in this beer, mixed in with those spices and good carbonation. I get a little bit of cinnamon in the finish and a little in the aftertaste, which was mostly sweet fruits. Alot going on in this beer. Very sharp flavors.

Poured from a 12 oz can. This was my first time with this beer. I’m not the biggest Hefe fan, but the Sly Fox was enjoyable. It poured goldish yellow, with a frothy white head. The aroma was as expected, with a crisp citrus nose. Taste was wheaty with plenty of fruit flavors. Good finish, and very thirst-quenching.

12 oz. can from willblake. Pour is a hazy orange gold with a nice big white head. Aroma is bananas, wheat and earthy yeastiness. Taste is really spicy, with cloves, banana and a bunch of wheat. Real nice, slightly tart wet finish. Some citrus in the body as well. This is certainly the best Hefeweizen I have had in a can. Very refreshing. Thanks Jon!

Thanks to the mystery swap 2.0 (doclock?) for this undated 12oz can. Pours a cloudy orange with hints of yellow and 1 1/2 finger white head. Retention is low, but with a little rousing it picks back up nicely. Aroma of banana, wheat, yeast, a little grain and clove, and a tinge of burnt plastic. Some lemon does make itself apparent. Flavor has a good amount of lemon, wheat, and banana (not necessarily in that order), not really a lot of clove, though there is some spiciness. This isn’t terribly sweet by any means, but for sure almost no bitterness. Lemony wheaty finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation. A good rendition of a German hefe.
