2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can from Zathrus. Not too bad a hefe. Interesting that there is yeast in the can. Way undercarbonated, especially for the style. Almost no head. Bad bad bad. Good spiciness and clove/banana typical hefe stuff, though a bit muddled and muddy, with an odd note of german hops. Flavor has a very rough, harsh mineral bite, underlying the hefe notes.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAY 25, 2007 I’ve been anticipating this forever. A hefeweizen with the yeast in a can, now i’ve seen everything. Pours orange gold with a 2 inch head-beautiful. Lots of banana and bubblegum ester in the aroma. Up front there is a lot of wheaty sweetness and more banana. For some reason the first few sips had this confusing and strong bitter tartness that was very off-putting. It seems gone for the most part. perhaps residue on the glass. A rich american attempt at a german hefe and up there with the best.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured a clouded gold ale into the glass with only a modest cap..missing was the puffy cap one expects on a hefe.
Aroma: one of the most well defined and authentic Hefe aromas I have had from a NA Hefeweizen...cloves, bubblegum, Banana, cinnamon, some citrus light musty-sweetness....excellent nose to this.
Profile: Big on sweet malts up front , good body for a weizen...mid palate you get the spicey fruity phenols from the heffe mingling with the styrian hops...finished semi-dry and biscuity.
One of the better domestic craft hefes.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a light body with vast quickly disapearing head. The aroma was a bit funky yeast to me, with lots of spices to come. A medium mouthfeel, I have had some thicker hefeweiz, but do not recall such a spicey one with a spice rack full of corriander, cinammon, nutmeg, et al..

Can (!) from markgugs - thanks! I’m not a huge fan of hefes, but I have to say I’m fairly impressed by this take. A big cloudy body of golden straw with a nice billowy head, the pils really leaped out at me, as did the big refreshing mouthfeel. There’s a grassy flavor that’s even a bit more dry than the usual wheat, and a well integrated palette of spices and fruits. Nicely done.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz. can. Hazy straw/amber colored with a medium white head that quickly dissipated. Mildly sweet aroma of bananas, cloves and a bit of citrus. Sweet, wheat malt flavor with notes of cloves, citrus and a touch of banana. Decent, easy drinking beer that was very refreshing after a hard afternoon of yard work.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
poured from a 12 oz. can into a tall weiss glass
A: Pours a refreshing-looking straw yellow with loads of yeast cloudiness. Huge fluffy head and an amazing amount of lacing throughout.
S: Very rich yeast aromas with delicious hints of caramel and sweet ripened fruit.
T/M: Very tangy, lemony flavors dominate, with a hint of sweetness throughout, creating a solid balance. Slightly too carbonated, but overall quite tasty.
D: Incredibly easy-to-drink beer, would be a superb replacement at summer BBQs and get-togethers for your non-craft beer pals. Very well crafted!
Another winner from Sly Fox, recommended!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
There seems to bit some unbalance as I detect spiked fruit flavors and subdued ones with a banana bubblegum feel and a dry malty backbone which seems true to the German style but brings a bit too much bitterness to an otherwise flavorful beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can via trade with Zathrus13 - Thanks! - Pours cloudy bright amber with a fair white frothy head that leaves some lace. Aromas of bannana, clove, yeast, and a touch of lemon. Flavor is bannana, clove, yeast, and a twist of lemon. Kind of chalky on the palate with a lingering sweet aftertaste. Not a bad hefe really..

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can via doclock: Pours a hazy pale orange color with a big white head. Aroma, spices, banana, cloves, wheat, yeast, some lemon, it’s thick with spices. Flavor, yeasty, banana, lemon, cloves, and other spices. Sticky almost chewy mouth feel, medium bodied. Some floral bitterness with the clove lingering the longest.
