sinkr (129), Lusby, Maryland, USA Mar 24, 2008 Draft->juice glass (tasting@brewery): Poured a small, white, lasting head atop of a muddy orange body that was cloudy with particles. Aromas are toffee, nutty, orange, and a light hint of yeast with some bubble gum notes. The body is light, sticky on the mouth, and finishes astringent and bitter. The flavor is lightly sweet, moderately acidic and bitter. I really liked this beer; it exhibits a very sweet aroma, with fruit bowl and complex aroma. Prolly the best weiss(e) I’ve had to date (Mar08).
PilsnerPeter (1396), Flushing, New York, USA Aug 21, 2008 Can: Pours a cloudy/murky golden with a tight white film of head. The aroma has some candied banana, smooth vanilla notes, and mild clove. Fairly light, yet lively mouthfeel. Flavor has a very subtle sweetness upfront of banana and vanilla notes. Then comes a very subtle herbal note in the middle which is followed by a late spice note of clove and mild pepper dryness in the finish. A balanced Hefeweizen, that isn’t overly estery. Highly drinkable. can8ianben (608), Pasadena, California, USA Aug 18, 2008 A pretty tasty beverage. Cloudy and zesty. I’d order this one again. The Sly Fox branding is rather unimpressive. I wouldn’t have ordered it but a friend had one. BeerandBlues2 (2460), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Aug 11, 2008 12-oz can received via Secret Santa July 2008. Pours hazy dark yellow with a small, fizzy, white head, mostly diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (grain, cereal, meal), average hops (flowers, grass), heavy yeast (horse blanket, barnyard, earth) with notes of banana, clove, and butter. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness. afireinside96 (410), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 9, 2008 From a can, drank from a shaker glass. Hazy golden liquid topped with a small white head. Light smell of oranges. Smooth doughy flavor with some citrus, banana, yeast, tart. More bitterness than most Hefes.. Nice mouthfeel, soft yet prickly. Very nice. lb4lb (1365), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 8, 2008 Can bonused in trade from davide169. Thanks!
Pours rich and thick orange colored with a medium lived head. Smell is fruity, banana, yeasty and a bit mild overall, but pleasant. Taste is very wheaty with some banana and light hops showing up. Still creamy and smooth, yet crisp carbonation. Pretty solid Hefeweizen!
