3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Canned Princess Alexandra Northampton 18/07/14. A copper coloured beer with a whitish head. Sweet malts piss all over the hops and make it over chewy and a bit of a struggle. It has depth and the hops seem good but it’s oh so sweet.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can at home from beer shop St Albans. Bright orange red coloured pour with a lasting sticky off white head. Aroma is dank hop with pine hop, and some caramel malts. Some tobacco and dank hops. Flavour is composed of caramel biscuity malts with berry fruits, pine hops. Bitterness is aggressive but relatively clean. Long lingering bitterness, with slight solvent varnish finish. Palate us medium full bodied with resin and varnish on the tongue. Highish carbonation. Tasty enough, maybe a little out of balance.

12 Oz can from Total Wine and More The ale poured a clear deep amber with white frothy head and major lacing . The aroma was faint with a hint of pine resin. The flavors were muted maybe some tropical fruit and citrus. The light body ale had soft carbonation. The finish was slightly sweet and smooth. OK. Nice ABV My can had 7% and 113 IBUs Plato 16.4

Transfer from BA review on 6-15-12-
Served in a 10 oz chalice glass
Appearance – Served an orange amber color with a medium white head. The head faded fast to give only a light amount of lacing.
Smell – The smell had a big caramel sweet and bready base with notes of pine and a lemon citrus. Mixed with these aromas was some lighter aromas of some earthy hops.
Taste – A hopped bready malt meets the tongue. The hop is mainly of a pine and earthy nature in the front. A sweet caramel comes more into the middle of the taste. This is mixed with a citrus hop flavor. The sweet in the middle loses ground more toward the end where the lemon and grapefruit citrus hops intensify and leave a more bitter taste on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is a little above average in terms of creaminess with the carbonation being the same. Both suit the beer fine, but are nothing exceptional.
Overall – It was a rather run of the mill IPA in most ways. Not bad, but also not great.
