Ungstrup (11378), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 10, 2007 Draft at the Phoenixville location, July 2006. A dark orange beer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma is lovely sweet and hoppy with some grapefruit notes, my guess is Cascade. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, but very early the hops hits the palate with strong notes of grass, that turns more towards grapefruit towards the end, which is very dry and bitter. oh6gdx (6334), Vaasa, Finland Aug 16, 2008 Cask@GBBF2008. Copper coloured, small beige bubbly head. Aroma is hops, wood and some notes of grass and caramel in a nice balance. Flavour is bigtime US hops along with some grass and mild notes of pine. Also some mild glueish notes in the flavour. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 03/15/2006

dark clear amber, thin beige head, dry malt aroma with earthy hops, rich carmel flavor, touch of sweetness, the carmel and sweetness blend nicely as it warms and balances with the hops, nice lasting bitterness,

Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Mar 9, 2006 Clear copper, nice 1cm white head mostly lasts, but ignores the lacing notion. Light wood, pine gum and mint hoppiness is kept to a pretty low profile by the sweet maple syrup akin malts that come out rather grainy. Brown ale roastiness and anise notes once again accentuate focus on the malt side, but the 2nd dimension kicks in, apparently independent from the first, an aggressive and detached bitterness that quickly becomes astringent. Acerbic finish, unattractive malt and heavy filtration don’t help much in the mouthfeel department neither, light to medium bodied at best and fading carbonation. Below expectations. harrisoni (5331), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 18, 2008 Cask at GBBF 08. Amber, thin beige head. Slightly bitter peppery hop aroma which is very nice. Better than.... I have no idea as my notes stop at that bit and then start again with....lacks a big finish. Not really a 7.2% ABV. No real heat. Just dies a little, but drinkable enough.
