On tap at brewpub. Pours a clear coppery amber color with a two finger off-white bubbly head that quickly settled to a thin layer. Aroma was fairly fruity, mostly berries, slightly vinous and earthy, floral hop notes with mild maltiness and a bit of yeast. The initial taste was a light hoppy ale, mixed with an almost pepper like spiciness that continued on to a nice rounded out light grain fed base. Fairly crisp and dry, lightish body with ample carbonation.

Draft at blue monk. Brown amber pour. Mild amber of fruity yeastiness. Nutty flavor with fruity yeastiness, light chemical finish. Fruity yeastiness. Ok, not a ton of Saison notes.

On tap at Iron Hill West Chester for the Belgium Comes to West Chester Event. Pours a somewhat muddy brown color with a light tan head. Decent retention and good lacing. The nose has a nice bit of underlying earth and pepper. Some spicy dryness and faint bit of cherries and skin. Light tartness coming through. Flavor really nice with an underlying tartness throughout. Cherry character and some very light general fruitiness. Some spiciness in the background. Dark malt character helps carry things through. Body is medium with good carbonation. Lightly tart finish. Smooth body. Quite nice.

Draft at Z bar at the deli. Pours brown with a thin khai head which disappears quickly. Nice funky notes on the nose. The taste feels a bit muted to me. It like a Saison without the farmhouse. Clean finisher. Solid but not spectacular.

Clear brown with a nice head. Aroma has fruits, spices, caramel. Highly carbonated mouth feel. Flavor is caramel malts, yeast spice, light fruity notes, banana, and light clove. Decent brew.

Draft: Poured a dark red/brown with a nice head. The aroma was apples, banana, sugary malts and vanilla. The flavor was vanilla, sugar, beets, banana, and malts. Overall, a little too complex and not overly balanced. Tasty nonetheless.

Draught. Poured darkish amber. A bit of head. Taste was a bit too sour for me.

In short: A grainy juicy fruity dark Belgian ale. Not much of a Saison, just decent as a beer.
How: Handbottle from my buddy dickinsonbeer. Thanks a lot Paul.
The look: Clear amber-ruby body topped by a medium off-white head
In long: Nose of dried fruits and grainy toasted malts. Taste is dry bread crumps, earthy grainy malts, breakfast dark grape juice, some prunes, nutmeg sensation, herbal/leafy hops with a mild resinous bitterness. Didnít feel very Saison to me. Too much sweet fruits juice. Not really clean. Dark Saisons are feasible but most of them miss the target. Iím a Saison-head and I wasnít too impressed by this beer. Itís still nice that I got the opportunity to try it thanks a handbottle from my buddy Paul. Itís comforting to know that while I am writing this, someone somewhere is thinking about me and smiling. This usually lasts a few seconds before they start laughing out loud.

Draft...Phoenixville served in a 10 oz glass.......Amber with red highlights and a mist of a head....mini bubble carbonation...had a dried fruit aroma like apples and pineapples and bananas....vanilla tingles my nose hairs as well....first taste is vanilla then dried banana...mid-palate apples and a spicy (sharp) yeast abundant....it finishes bitter...I like that it has 3 distinct tiers of sensation...but I donít enjoy all of them :(
