3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 DLD06 tasting-clear yellow with a sudsy tight carbonation head. very floral nose with notes of lemon, light belgian funk, and tart sourness. flavors are lightly sour, tart, lemon, with a walloping dry/citric finish. has high carbonation, almost too much for this style. pretty respectible for an american brewer, but there are a few better american saisons out there. good nonetheless.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle DL Day: Golden hazy hue with a light fluffy head and some lace. The aroma has notes of biscuity malt, noble bitters, cardamon, funky brett and barnyard esters (is that suppose to be there?) and some pepper.
The taste is nice a sour at first before a flowery and yeasty tone takes hold. A bit weizen like with wheat, clove, and banana character in mid stream before finishing tart and citric again. A interesting roller coaster of flavors that almost had me going. The problem I see with this beer is that it appears to be over carbonated which hurts the lighter hop profile.
It is very refreshing and floral enough, drinkable for sure.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 bottle. Pours a very nice lightly hazy medium golden with a large fluffy white head that left a thick rocky lacing down the sides of the glass. Head also stuck around the whole time. Small floaties. Aroma was a mix of belgian spices, yeast, some tropical fruits, even some darker fruits, lemony and some sugary malts. Flavor was peppery up front with some grains, citrus, farmhouse, yeast, spices and banana. Tingly carbonation at first but then it smoothed out more so than others of the style. Also picked up a light bitterness. I really enjoyed this one. Glad I have another bottle to let sit around for a little while plus the fact that I live so close to the brewery!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 18, 2006 750ml bottle courtesy of zathrus13. Pours a bright yellow color with a frothy white head and very active carbonation. Yeasty banana aromas with some very evident bubblegum notes and spice. Thick malty flavor with a slight astringency. Lemongrass, spices, malt, bubblegum, clove and banana make up the flavor. Nice.

2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
pours a urine tainted neon yellow with a white head. yeastastic aroma of grains of paradise or corriander or something, a really great spicy nose. first taste bites me then i compensate for the crappy mouthfeel of pine needles. lemon pear and blueberry come out in this in an bad balance for me.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours to a golden body with a nice white head. The aroma is lemony, spicy, yeasty, bananas. The flavor is lemons, nice hoppiness, yeasty. The palate is very sharp. Over-carbonated and very hard to drink because of that.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Thanks to footbalm for the trade. Pours a beautiful golden brown with a nice white head. WoW, what a mouthfull. Very carbinated and dry were my first impressions. Has a bitter, zesty taste. Notes of lemon and grapefruit. Not sure what else to get out of it really. This is my first Saison. Not to bad. I guess I will just have to try some more to appreciate it more.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a beautiful golden straw yellow with a slight haze and a nice fluffy long lasting head and kickass lace. When it is cold, the aroma is almost no-existant, but when it warms it actually becomes very nice and is remarkably similar to a traditional saison like Dupont. Must be the exact dupont strain. Aroma is the traditional saison character- slightly salty, leather, sweet malt and spicy phenols, that get very powerful as it reaches cellar temps. Flavor is nice and phenolic, spicy light pepper, clove, more leather and farmhouse notes, and moderately bitter. Finishes very smooth and very dry- exactly to style. This is a perfect American interpretation of a Belgain saison. The next bottle I get, I will have side-by-side with a dupont to see which is better. This is much much better than I expected. I have already decided that the next time I see a case of this, I will buy it.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottles from Doclock, hopdog.
Pours yelow with a huge lasting white head. Smells perfumey with flowers, some grass, sugar, and lemons as the most obvious. Tastes of wheat, coriander, some really nice rosey elements and a spicey finish. Reminded me of something Fantome would make. Many thanks for this one!
