A Belgian style Saison (or Farmhouse Ale) brewed with a blend of British Pale and German Pils malt and hopped with East Kent Goldings. Fermented with a special proprietary yeast which imparts its dry, spicy character. Golden orange in color.

Bottle. Pineapple-lemon color. No head. Grassy, wheaty, yeasty hints in aroma. Peppery, spicy notes come out post-initial taste, almost a little surprisingly so. Quite dry - evaporates quickly from the tongue. Pleasing and a quality pour, though not my favorite Saison of the day, even. Sampled @ BCTC 2007

On tap at Sly Fox Brewpub. Small, fizzy, white head that diminished as I drank. The body was a clear, medium yellow. The aroma reminded me of white wine and as did the taste. Light and creamy with lively carbonation.

Tap @ Sly Fox. Not quite clear, hazy yellow/gold. Good white head, and carbonation. Aroma was of sweet, raw bacon (the good farmer's market stuff), other unusual smells including mild, sweet wee wee. (Not negative though, I couldn’t stop sniffing it). Flavor is slightly sweet, tangy, spicey Belgian yeast with a full but mellow clove flavor. Mild hops. Malt flavor was well integrated into the spiciness. Nice, dry finish. Into the med bodied range. I usually avoid the more clovey beers but this was quite good..... Plagiarized: "Musty" is a good descriptive word for this brew.

Really surprised how much I truyl enjoyed this beer. Classic saison wild yeast flavor comes through on the first sip, nice finish, balanced through and through....cheers to Sly Fox.

Light golden color. Light fruity flavor with a light-medium mouthfeel. Ends very dry and spicy. Good one.

bottle. pours cloudy yellow gold with a big mountainous white head. aroma is musty with a light element of citrus/lime. the carbonation and bitter were dominant at first sip, but as it warmed it balanced well allowing light spice to come through. dry finish. the look and aroma are great but i was hoping for more yeast character, and something a little more dynamic in the taste. reminded me more of a straight beligain blonde than a lively, fruity siason. not a bad beer by any means though.

Clear gold pour with a small white head. Nose is full of citrus, lemons, bananas, and a touch of pepper. Tastes about the same. Nice dry yeasty finish with a little bit of spiciness. Body is on the light side, but pretty crisp. I’m not usually a fan of saisons but this is a pretty nice offering. Would be a nice spring and summer sipper.

Bottle. Hazy, bottle-conditioned golden color. Aroma of malt, spice, flower, herb, licorice, white wine, hay. Flavors of grain, wine white, spice, pepper, herb, licorice. Earthy with spice and bright fruit notes. Balanced finish with carbonic edge. Medium body with springy mouthfeel and moderate-high carbonation.

750->tulip: Pours a huge, white, frothy head that exhibits excellent lacing atop a cloudy yellow body. Malt is of cookie, hops are of celery, and a light yeast/bacteria aroma. The body is medium, the texture is alcoholic and contains light carbonation, all finishing astringently. The flavor’s duration is short, and it is lightly sweet, acidic, and bitter, ending somewhat salty. Not a bad beer by any stretch of the imagination and a very good Saison to boot. A definite "do-over." :)
