750 ml bottle from michael-pollack- thanks again, Pollack! Pours a cloudy yellow-gold color with a big, fluffy eggshell white head and plenty of visible sediment. Aroma of farmhouse funk, grass, lighter spices like coriander and clove, bready malts, and mild tropical fruits. Flavor of grass, straw, herbs, bready malts, funk, pears, peppery yeast, and a bit of banana. Medium-bodied, with a good amount of soft carbonation and a bready mouthfeel and dry finish. Man, I had a lot of great saisons over DLD weekend for some reason. Good beer.

Bottle sampled in May 2006: Pours a clear golden bronze with a nicely-lacing frothy white head. Nice, fresh authentic, earthy, spiced and Belgian yeasty aroma. Body starts lightly biscuity and sweet with good earthy bitter and spiced balance along with a touch of citrus tartness. A very authentic and flavorful American made saison.

[145-20061221] 750mL. Bready, yeasty alcohol aroma thatís tangy with a faint hint of band-aid. Cloudy, straw-coloured body with a big foamy white head. Flavour is tangy wheat with hoppy spice, hints of herb, citrus and ginger, and it somehow reminds me of seafood. Medium body, tangy aftertaste. Good in small quantities, has an interesting Kool-Aid-esque tang.

750 ml bottle thanks to Dan. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. The aroma is sweet spicy pepper and lemons. The flavor is smooth pale malts and some zesty lemon, a bit of pepper and earthy yeast. Very drinkable. Quite well made.

Bottle. Pours gold with a huge white head. Sweet aroma, a bit citric with plenty of spices. Flavor has spices and is a bit sweet and fruity. Citric, some grass and pepper, which leads to a dry finish. Nice.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2007 Bottle. Head is initially large, frothy, white, fully lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (herbs), lightly yeasty (cobwebs, basement), with notes of pepper, lemon zest, and canned pineapple. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Got 3 more bottles recently in order to get more closely acquainted with this one. The aroma has been consistently a little less solid than my first try a few years ago, but itís still overall one of the better saisons made in the US. Patterned after Saison Dupont for sure.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy dark yellow with an average size lasting white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, lemon and spices (lots of pepper). Flavour follows the aroma but I didnít like it as much, itís quite dry, yeasty and spicy along with some lemon but it has a spicy/boozy finish that I didnít love. Medium bodied. Iím not a big fan of Saisons but this one was pretty decent.
