A Belgian style Saison (or Farmhouse Ale) brewed with a blend of British Pale and German Pils malt and hopped with East Kent Goldings. Fermented with a special proprietary yeast which imparts its dry, spicy character. Golden orange in color.

Tap at Barcade: Golden with good clarity for a Saison, and a fading white head. Estery aroma. Has a Belgian yeast character. Fruity with some apple skin, anise and a touch of bubblegum sweetness. Carbonation is frothy, yet sticky simultaneously. Starts sweet with mild bubblegum, honey and apple-like notes. There’s a note of sweet Belgian malt in the middle followed by a spicy, grassy, peppery finish. A decent example of the style, although the flavor don’t mesh very well.

The smell is a bit barnyard, with lots of malt behind it. The taste, from a medium plus mouthfeel,is hoppy and mildly spicey, and is a bit astringent in the finish.Drinkable though not best of style.Orange with off-white head.

Nice looking beer with a fluffy head. Aroma is sweet and citrus with some spices. Taste has a bit of honey and clove with some faint citrus.

On draft, Phoenixville location. Poured a golden straw with nice 1/2 head. Aroma of banana, spices, belgian yeast. Flavor is ok with a general spicyness, wheat, clove, and with a very mineral finish. Palate was the highling of this beer for me, nice velvety mouthfeel with good carbonation. Overall this is a decent beer, but it lacks intensity on every front. None of the barnyard/complex flavors and aromas of a true Belgian Saison. As if brewed not to offend anyone. Very clear pour, needs more yeast and funk in there. Where’s the funk?

22 oz special ’wedding gift’ bottle, shared by egajdzis at O’Briens. Pours golden, mostly clear with a large foamy white head. Sweet malty aroma, with yeast and herbs, a little smoke (?), light citrus notes and spice. Flavor featured spice and bitter herbs, earthy notes, a bit of hoppiness and very astringent. Medium body and foamy carbonation.

Pale cloudy yellow/orange in colour, very large white coloured head, fair retention, good lacing. The aroma is of citrus, mainly lots of orange, floral hops, yeast and must. The flavour is very yeasty and musty, lots of orange and lemon citrus, some spice. Sour mouthfeel, medium body, insane carbonation. Finishes long, fizzy, lots of yeast. A very yeasty saison, very high amounts of carbonation. The carbonation becomes a bit of a distraction.

Sample from a bottle. Light yellow in color and cloudy in appearance with a soft white head. Weird nose of grain and spice, a but floral, but not really peppery or exciting at all, more of a herb-like spice note. Oily texture up front, lightly drying in the back, which is nice enough, but flavor-wise it comes across perfume-heavy and green, with a distinct oily vegetable note throughout. Okay overall, but a little weird and a little too green.

(bottle - corked & caged 750 ml) Straw yellow pour with an inch of fizzy white foam. Aroma is light and spicy with hints of pepper, spice, apples, and yeast. Flavor is spicy and a bit sour at the beginning with a lot of bitterness and yeast in the middle, and a lightly sour and spicy finish. Not bad flavors but a bit too sour and fizzy.
