haukur (669), Reykjavik, Iceland Jul 22, 2008 on draft at the blind tiger ale house. Enjoyable saison, citrus hops, dry and somewhat spicy. Very drinkable
CharlesDarwin (1412), State College, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 11, 2008 750mL Bottle. Noses soft in minerals, pepper and delicious saison yeast tartness. Clean. Pours a brilliant crystal clear gold, with a tall holding head in beautiful white. Flavor is fresh and bristling with malt character, delicious pale fruits backed with a nip of alcohols. Pears, almonds and a bit of white grape settle in amongst the peppery yeast. This is excellent. Maybe not quite the depth or hop balance I would want, but otherwise a fantastic Saison. tripelthreat (20), Soquel, California, USA Oct 8, 2008 Bottle into goblet. Fine bubbled but short-lived head atop a hazy golden body. Some floaties stirred up in the bottle after the pour. Faintly sweet on the nose but the last remnants of a cold are hindering things. Soft and wheaty on the first sips. Initally dry, with some growing sweetness. Finishes with bitterness that becomes stronger and harsher further into the bottle. I was hoping for more classic funk but I don’t think it’s there. Nonetheless, a good effort. presario (2441), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Oct 6, 2008 Giant fluffy head. Golden colour. Delicious. One of the best American Saisons. Light on horse and farm, big on drinkability and flavour. KieferUGA (356), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 26, 2008 750 ml bottle. Pours a light yellow with a large, fluffy white head. Nice floral aroma with grassy hints. A good bit of lacing is present. Flavor is slightly sweet, with hints of bubblegum, citrus fruits. Finish is dry and peppery. Very good beer. blipp (818), Grand Island, New York, USA Aug 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours gold with a huge white head. Sweet aroma, a bit citric with plenty of spices. Flavor has spices and is a bit sweet and fruity. Citric, some grass and pepper, which leads to a dry finish. Nice.
