3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Piss yellow pour with a short-lasting carbonation sits crystal clear in my glass. Bitter, tannic nose with short-shooting spritz recalls champagne in only the classiest way. There is a touch of sweaty aroma, almost cabbagey, that seems interesting as long as it doesn’t translate in to the taste. Drinks very crisp with a savory, musty note that counterbalances the true apple flavor. Yes, it’s a bit brussels-sprout-y, but the slight degree makes it all OK. This is a complex cider with a festive presentation that creates a satisfying experience. Probably something I would enjoy more in the warmer months, but fun and tasty overall. I especially like the tart zip in the finish which doesn’t linger but seems quite pointy. Just one more layer to this fantastic beverage.

Bottle. Medium apple sweetness, more so on the nose, with faint tartness and a hint of acidity. Very clean and east drinking, with a relatively crisp and dry finish. At 9% ABV, I could guzzle the hell out of this. Beware.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Proletariat prior to heading to Andy’s for New Years. Pours a clear glowing straw gold. Soft fleshy apples on the nose, tart and crisp. Medium bodied, tart acid, warm tangy apples. Long tartness, crisp and bright. Yeast is very faint. Finishes very clean. Lovely stuff.

Bottled. Pale golden translucent pour. Apples obviously smell. Dry acidic finish. A very elegant cider

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: DEC 17, 2012 Half a gallon gurgled while slurping down complimentary oysters at the Times Center cider week event. :D Re-rated from a bottle purchased @ the New Amsterdam Farmer’s Market.
Clear, pale golden straw color. Lots of fizz.
Pineapple juice sort of aroma creeps through before it airs out. Especially so if you stick your nose in the neck of the bottle. Browned apples, pear-like perfume, & champagne.
Taste is bittersweet. Sweet table wine, acidy apple, bitter cores, wood. Lingering bit of green grape sugary-ness. Mellow tartness. Slick texture with a strong carbonation that really sells it.
Nice local stuff, even if they have a bit of a sweet tooth.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750mL Bottle poured at CiderDays 2010. Subtle, lightly sulfury aroma. Pale golden. Sweet, floral, but a bit warm. Effusive and strong carbonation really carries the flavors and the textures. Nice acidity and cleansing, but low on the overall complexity. Cuts fatty, younger cheeses well.
