Draught at Three Aces. Poured almost pitch black and a rim of foam. Smells exactly like a root beer. Very very smooth. Tastes also just like a root beer sweet with anise but with a dash of booze. I have always hated root beer but this might change my mind. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Smells exactly like commercial root beer. Taste is sweet root beer. Boozy champagne yeast finish.

Tried this at WOB (World of Beer) in Naperville. This is what it says it is. By all accounts you would think you had a bottle of Sprechers from the nose. The alcohol is nearly non-discernable, so be careful. This is a sipping dessert beer, not something you want to sit down and order up all night. The taste is very much like root beer, but without as much carbonation. I need another visit with it to figure out more of the complexity, as I was sampling from a friend. Overall it was quite enjoyable and delivered on what it said to expect. Very nicely crafted. Kudos to the brewer.

Tries it on tap at Tap House Grill, St Charles, IL. My rating is based on it being a alcoholic root beer and not necessarily a "beer". It a Root Beer all right ! Very strong flavor and quite sweet with only a hint of the 10% ABV. You wouldn’t want to drink a lot of this but, as a root beer, it great. As a "alcoholic beer" ? Well, maybe not so much. Give me some good French Vanilla ice cream to poyr it over !

On tap @ Uncle Mikes. Hard to rate as a true beer, this is a great root beer at 10% abv. Looks smellls and tastes like root beer.

Sample at the Beer Market in Vernon Hills, IL. What is this I don’t even . . . Pours dark brown with almost no head. Aroma of root beer. Flavor, root beer. Slick mouthfeel. A touch of detectable booze but otherwise clean and almost not discernable fron root beer. Pretty different beer if you ask me. Not something I’d drink on a regular basis though.

Sampled from the tap at the Mundelin beer fest. Pours a dark brown with a light brown head that remains throughout the beer. Aroma smells just like root beer, very sweet. Flavor is extremely sweet as well and just like root beer. Personally not a root beer fan, but it does taste just like it.
