COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This brew is a shout-out to the alter ego in each of us, beckoning it out of dormancy. Porter, brewery president, left his career as an attorney to heed the call of his weekend passion, making beer. He and friends, also consumed by beer, established Smartmouth in 2012. This farmhouse-style Belgian saison is an effervescent and refreshing beer with fruity notes, a hint of pepper and a dry finish.

Can pour, happy to try some new cans from down yonder in Virginia, pours a nice golden yellow orange hue with a 1 finger creamy white head, nose has got fruity banana, some clove, trace of lemon, mouthfeel is really solid, light bodied, refreshing after being out in the hot sun, like the fruit in play here, not overwhelmed by lemon influence like some in the style, perfect amount of sweetness, quite enjoyable..

Pours clear solar yellow with a thick porcelain head. Aroma delivers yeasty and fruity notes. Flavor delivers even more fruit, banana and pear and a bit of mango, with malty and hoppy hints. Body is OK, so is fizz. To take the edge off a sweltering day - a good thing what with climate change.

Can provided at campfire by BTL. Yay. Busy can. Farmhouse lite. Or maybe baby farmstand. While thirst quenching and punchy, the body is a skoash underwhelming and spices and yeast tone are as well. Meeker than I prefer, but then again, I am spoiled by Hutch.

Pours a hazy yellow on tap with fluffy white head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of spicy Belgian saison esters and malty sweetness. Taste is more toward banana and spicy wheat esters, almost hefe, but still farmhouse funky. Bubbly carbonation, clean and easy, solid saison.

Poured from 12 oz. can. Cloudy, golden yellow with a 4-finger off-white head and good lacing. Aroma of lemony citrus, light fruit, pepper and yeast. Taste of Belgian yeast, light citrus, sweet light fruit and spice. Medium body and medium carbonation. A respectable Belgian pale ale. I'm not sure I would call it an IPA. Easy to drink, but not on a par with the great Belgian pale ales. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lemon zest nose. Cloudy golden, thin. Whole lemon, white grape, cobweb. Lemongrass finish. Med, spritzy, dry.
