COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named in tribute to the railroads that surround our brewery, Cowcatcher Milk Stout is a surprisingly sessionable beer that is as black as night with a thick, tan head. This beer is brewed with lactose, giving it a substantial smooth body. Munich, black malts and roasted barley lend a roasted coffee-esque flavor profile to balance the sweetness of the lactose and Crystal 60 malt. This offering was brewed as a limited edition beer, with only 10 barrels available. Don’t let anything get in the way of you drinking some Cowcatcher Milk Stout!

On draft at SmartMouth. Pours a medium stout brown with an off-tan head. Nose is some sweet chocolate, some Hershey bar, some earth, some baker’s chocolate, and some sweetness. Flavor is similar with roast, some Hershey bar, some baker’s chocolate, and some acrid coffee. Light to medium in body and a nice milk stout overall.

Draft. Overall a very good sweet stout. Smooth, lots of flavor but without sharp edges, satisfying all around.

Cowcatcher is a solid milk stout. The aroma is typical of stout, though light on the hop. The appearance is dark, though the head was a little thin. The taste is perfectly balanced, malty and creamy and very rich. A sessionable beer.

From a growler purchased at the brewery. Pours brown with a khaki head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and faint floral hops. Great flavor of chocolate, light smoke, weak coffee, and just a touch of vanilla. Mouth feel is perfect with just a hint of creaminess and sweetness as you would expect from a milk stout. Nearly perfect for the style and a very nice beer.

Coffee colored pour, nice brown head. Cocoa, lactose, coffee, light roast all play together nicely in this one.

Nutty pecan aroma with chocolate accents. Black, medium tan head, good lacing. Pecan and almond flavor, lightly and appropriately sweet. Finishes more bitter with some toast and char notes. Drinks a little hot. Great example of the style without being milquetoast, pun absolutely intended.

Draft sample at my local beer store. Roasted malts, chocolate and some coffee flavors. Slightly bitter finish. Very nice stout.

Draft. Pours black with a small, tan head. Sweet and roasty aroma with dark chocolate and a touch of coffee. Smooth and almost creamy with notes of chocolate, roasted malts, light coffee and light vanilla. Similar finish with a light bitterness.
