Sommer Fling (formerly Uber) hefe is our traditional German-style hefeweizen that pours cloudy with a straw color and a white, fluffy head. It imparts an aroma with faint bready and spicy notes from the use of wheat and German noble hops; however, the aroma is dominated by cloves with bubblegum. It tastes slightly of bananas balanced with clove phenolics. Overall, this is an effervescent and refreshing beer perfect for enjoying outside as we welcome warm weather.

From the tap poured a copper color with a good amount of head. Light sweet malty flavor with a quick finish.

Hazy light gold pour. Clive in the nose translates to the mouth. Light body. Excellent for the style.

Tap @ Tap House Grill at Ghent - Norfolk: While I’m not normally a fan of hefe’s - this one was well made in the German style and serves as an extremely refreshing summer beer. Smooth body with great flavors of mild yeast and citrus. The citrus continues into the aftertaste.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a fairly clear gold with a thin white head. Soft wheat and a touch of banana and yeast on the nose. Crisp and clean. Medium bodied, nice and clean. Easy drinking, soft wheat on the finish.

Hazy golden, small white head, decent lacing. Aroma is a but of wheat, banana, crackers, clove. Flavor is similar, light sweet, a bit of lemon tartness, minimal bitterness. Interesting flavor a bit unlike other hefes. Bubblegum for sure. Medium body, silky mouthfeel

On draft at SmartMouth. Pours a proper hazy yellow-orangish with a white head. Nose is big citrus, some bread, and some cloves and bubble gum with the appropriate amount of fruit. Flavor is similar with the appropriate amount of fruit, orange, citrus, some banana, and some bubble gum. Great for hot weather, and a very enjoyable beer overall.

On tap at the brewery. Cloudy amber color with a short white head. Aromas of coriander, clove, wheat, hay and malt. OK for a hefe, but not my style.

Draft at the VA Craft Brewers Festival, Devils Backbone, 8/24/13. Pours a hazy orange color with not much of a head. Aroma of bubblegum, banana and a phenolic finish. The taste is wheat, citrus, bubblegum. Medium bodied, very straightforward.

OK hefe. Would’ve liked more of a bite, more citrus. Mild flavor. Light color. Mild aroma. Nothing special.
