Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a huge white head. The aroma has notes of vanilla, eggs, and some malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, citrusy hops, and spices - among themvanilla, leading to a dry spicy finish where a light note of alochol also appears.

Bottle at home. Almost clear golden pour, huge foamy white head that leaves lacing. Aroma of spicy malts, Belgian hops, yeast and slightly fruity. Flavor is spicy and quite bitter with loads of Belgian hops. Creamy texture and lively carbonation. Nice brew.

Bottle picked up at Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgium, June 2010 Pours gold a little hazy with large white foamy head. Yeasty and a little spice on the nose along with a dab of fruitiness. Some warmth from the alcohol in the mouth. Taste is similar to the nose, bit yeasty, fruity & spicy little bit hoppy also, I liked it but sort of consumed it without thinking about it really. UPDATED: AUG 19, 2010 First sample very young. To be retried in a couple of weeks. Towering dense yellow head, slowly collapsing over very carbonated hazy yellow beer with an olive shine. Strangely but unmistakably smoked first impression, followed by the typical Smisje wry-fruity yeast smell. Very dry, and really bitter, wry to harsh lupulin flavour. No relief from resiny or citrussy notes; truly herbal-weedy; not unlike pure laurel powder, without much of the laurel aroma. Some tart fruity yeast notes. Warming up, phenolic notes. Well-carbonated, slick, medium bodied. 3/5 Hoppiness really harsh at the moment. Second sample following in weeks.
Final version: Points for this final version! Good fluffy white head over pale copper-golden beer. Bit of curry and nearly-fresh hops. On thing remains: the lactic/yoghurt touch, found and forgotten. Harsh hoppiness as good as gone. Quite slick, aftertaste even more lactic. Definitely better than the first draw. The hops are integrated better, but maybe they might lack a bit of character now. Still - OK!
