Ported (54), Ontario, Canada Jun 10, 2006 Bottled. dark amber colour, bubbly white head that goes quick. smells like lightly roasted malts and caramel, tastes the same too. very thin, smooth drink, not watery just easy going. could drink many of these without thinking. excuse me while i finish off that 6 pack.
mcjay (8), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA does not count Aug 2, 2008 Very smooth malty flavor with a nice deep amber tone. Smithwicks (pronounced smit-icks) is to the Irish ale what Guinness is to the Irish stout. One of my favorites. DrDavid (62), , Vermont, USA Aug 1, 2008 (Bottle). Cola color, small head. Roasty, slightly bitter taste, with lingering minimal finish. Thin, mild, not unpleasant. smjohnst (106), , Pennsylvania, USA Aug 1, 2008 It has a guiness taste in the form of an ale, which for me is the perfect fit. It has a very smokey after taste. 502Flavors (199), Kentucky, USA Jul 29, 2008 On tap at a local dive bar. Dark nut brown pour with pretty good head. Aroma doesn’t have much going on, just a faint hint of nuts and pale malt that that you almost have to strain to detect. Flavor is funky and a bit out of balance - some hop notes and some slightly roasted malt flavor. Light bodied on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall: not horrible, but not great. It has a strange mustyness to it, like its dusty. fidelis83 (20), Clinton, Iowa, USA Jul 28, 2008 12oz Bottle. Pours clear brown bottle colr with a thin head that lasts. Aroma of fresh carmel and slight fall leaf-like mustiness. Very well balanced, slightly sweet, roast, bitter hops, very drinkable, great year round beer.
