RunDWP (110), San Jose, California, USA Mar 18, 2008 On tap. I’m a little surprised by all the high ratings here. Looked great in the glass, with a dark brown color with a white head. Had a toasted malt taste and not much else, and seemed a tad watery. Went down smooth, the taste was good, but nothing really special.
GAManiac (217), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jul 25, 2008 Pours a deep, deep red with a dense off-white head that lingered the entire session and left an absolute wall of lacing from top to bottom. Definitely one of the best looking irish reds I have ever seen. The smell is sweet and mainly malts with caramel and nuts. The taste has a strong malty sweetness as well but has a little bitterness in the finish to balance it out a little. The mouthfeel was a little over carbonated but still fairly smooth. I was actually pleasantly surprised by this one and thought it was very drinkable. saltebru (13), Ionia, Michigan, USA Jul 25, 2008 Nice beer. This is my fallback beer. Aroma of toffee and roasted malts. Russo (434), Campinas, Brazil Jul 22, 2008 Tap @ tomy doyles PUB, Newton,MA.Dark red color, nice and persistent whitehead. Aroma is malty. Flavor quite watery. Notes of roasted malt. Mouthfeel is only refreshing.
italianjohn (57), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 19, 2008 Very attractive and simple beer its not overpowering at all you can definitely taste some sort of toffee not hoppy or overcarbonated just a light good tasting ale its a good beer to keep in your rotation ethomson (16), Huntington Beach, California, USA Jul 17, 2008 They should just call this beer "Guiness Light". You can definitely tell it’s from the same brewers. It’s not bad though, roasty, malty flavors on the pallet, maybe a hint of coffee??? I don’t know, but basically it’s Guiness with a lighter kick to it.
