3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught @ Waxy O Connells in San Antonio - Pours clear amber with a medium tan head...aroma is grainy and dry malt, light fruity roast...flavour is similar, thin and just what you’d expect from an Irish red ale, but easy drinkning...

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle. Pours light Amber, very clear, thick of white head leaving a lot of lacing. Aromas of malt sweetness, dried apricot, raisin, Carmel, a little butter aroma. Taste is quite boring, compared to aroma. Some caramel, some malty sweetness up front leveling out into some bitterness and dryness in the finish. It’s an easy summer beer.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
11.2 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a clear reddish copper color. The head isn’t very nice looking: it’s a sudsy, one finger off-white shade with a slightly rough texture. About the only thing it does right is leave some lacing on the glass.
S: There really isn’t much here aside from a touch of cereal grain and some caramel maltiness. Nothing defined or anything that pops out of the glass by any means. It becomes slightly nutty as it warms up, though I don’t pick up any roasted barley.
T: It starts with a slightly acidic barley tingle, and finishes with some toffee. That’s about it really, but it actually kind of works considering that’s all it features.
M: I’ll give it one thing: it’s drinkable as hell. The thin texture, high carbonation, and ultra-clean finish means this goes down almost like water. I actually prefer that it has a slightly sharp, angular feel over a rounded, creamy (and sweet) one.
O: Not bad, not great, it’s just a very quaffable red ale with no standout characteristics. Basically, it’s one of those "chug ’em and forget when you’re in some faux-Irish pub" brews.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear, medium amber with a tan, frothy head. Aroma is lightly sweet malty, slight caramel. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. Flavor is a bit malty, sweet, light roasted...very light. It’s not too shabby, for what it is; an easy drinking pub ale.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a 12oz bottle as a deep copper brown. This beer has a thick long lasting cream colored head. The carbonation level appears to be pretty decent. the aroma comes as sweet, malty and slightly hoppy. the taste is pleasant with a nice hoppy bite that persists throughout. the malty and sweetness is mild but allows the beer to finish clean and doesn’t linger to long on the palate. Overall I really enjoyed this beer. You can really taste the influence of the Guinness brewery in this without it being a lighter Guinness clone.
