Draught @ Waxy O Connells in San Antonio - Pours clear amber with a medium tan head...aroma is grainy and dry malt, light fruity roast...flavour is similar, thin and just what you’d expect from an Irish red ale, but easy drinkning...

I had it from the bottle this time. It’s crisp and carbonated. The taste is dry malt with a hint of bitterness and caramel. For what it is, it’s not bad. It’s sessionable and tasty enough.

4.5%abv. 500ml can. Pours a clear ruby/caramel with a one finger, eggshell head. Aroma has smooth notes of caramel, slight roast, dark fruits, bread, and traditional hops. Taste is balanced. Dry caramel, traditional hops, and a touch of roast and dark fruits at the end. Medium body and carbonation. Clean in the mouth with a dry finish. Overall tasty enough but not a show stopper.

Draft. Very disappointing. Flat, muted nose. Flat, muted flavors. Pales in comparison with modern IPAs and even regular ales.

15th May 2015: 11.2oz bottle into a Corsendonk badged stemmed tulip at my daughters house in Orange County. Nice red hue to the chestnut coloured body, on top a blanket of beige foam.Malty lead in both the nose and taste, good bitterness and some fruit notes in the taste also. Very fizzy on the palate: over carbonated for me to be honest, otherwise a very pleasant beers.

English beer that is very popular. This is a decent beer but once again doesnt have that much to distingush itself.

Pours a whiskey dark brown with a rich pull-candy colored head. Caramel, faint bourbon, cola, and tonic on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied. Caramel flavor with a little cola and bitter tonic as well.

Pours clear orange amber from 12 oz with frothy white head. Faint malty aroma, caramel possibly. Grainy, semi sweet malt flavor with smooth hoppy bitterness, though overall fairly tasteless. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall an easily drinkable beer but not many complexities to appreciate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330 ml bottle into pint glass, bottled on 11/30/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear deep reddish copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, plum, pear, apple, herbal, grass, light nuttiness, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, and fruity yeast, and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, plum, pear, apple, herbal, grass, light nuttiness, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, plum, pear, apple, herbal, grass, light nuttiness, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a very good Irish red ale style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

(Bottle) Hmm. Pretty tasty water. Actually, I think this would be pretty good while grilling on a hot summer day. And, it has character, at least. I would drink this again but there are certainly better beers out there.
