2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tall pint can, part of the "Irish Beer Discovery Pack" sold at the local Harris Teeter here in Huntersville, NC. Pours a golden color with a nice white foamy head. Aroma is of hops and some ale esters. Flavor is slightly sweet and a bit of the hops. Not the best from Swithwick’s, but it’s worth drinking during the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.

Bottle. Amber beer with a strong white head. The aroma is lightly hopped with some toffee, and the flavour is bitter with some fruity and toffee'ness. Overall an average pale ale.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: MAR 12, 2014 500ml bottle. Aromas of hop citrus, caramel, some fruits. Taste, like most Smithwicks, is lacking. Taste of caramel, turns bitter quite quick, carbonation is quite poor. The finish is bitter. It?s again, easy drinking, but not special. But it is the best of the brewer.

500 ml bottle. Thanks E!
Pours a golden colour with a small lacy head. Aroma of Goldings, heather and some malts. Flavour of sweet malts, British hops, cardboard, floral notes and pale malts. Light bodied, slick mouthfeel and a bit harsh carbonation. Finishes malty and dry. Mild and bulky.

Can. Interesting. I was expecting a British style pale but this is more American. Not a fan.

Dollar can. Pour looks like soda in the glass... The smell is whatever, light malt an hops. Flavor is weird, almost minty and grapey, not sure how the fuck they got this flavor. Some DMS and corn husk. It blows.

Can poured into a shaker. Pours a clear pale yellow with a half finger of white head. Aroma is slightly grassy with a hint of lemon. Taste is light bitter. Grassy and herbal. A very slight hint of citrus. Light bodied with a thick yet slick texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, not bad. Nothing I would seek out but I would gladly pickup a 6pk.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pretty forgettable English style Pale Ale. Easy enough to drink, but I'd prefer the standard Smithwicks any day.

14.9 ounce can, part of the Irish Beer Discovery Pack from Diageo. Full golden color, nice white foam. The aroma is of hops and ale esters. The flavor is slightly sweet with perceptible hop oils. Almost tastes American because ot the hops. Not my favorite beer from Smithwick´s, but a quality product nonetheless. Kind of like a mild West Coast IPA.
