3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The pour is a cloudy golden color with a white head. Starts of with lots of citrus peel, especially orange and lemon peel. Some yeast, grass, and bread. Faint spice notes on the finish. The flavor is sweet up front with a hint of tart lemon on the finish. Lemon and orange peel, some hints of grass and straw, light yeast, and a little bit of sugar. Nice bready base to it which gives most of the sweetness.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Mohawk Bend. Aroma is intoxicating--smells like weed. Flavor is hops and weed, a little grassy Saison flavor on the back. Nice!

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Tustin Brewing. There’s a bit of spice and citrus in the aroma along with some banana notes. Very hazy and medium yellow with a thin lacy head. Some of the spice follows in the flavor but the predominate taste is more like a hefeweisen than a saison with banana and wheat. It’s not bad and is quite tasty, but not quite to traditional saison style. There’s a nice earthy and grapefruit bitterness that comes next and it finishes with all of these flavors lingering behind. Very refreshing.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is a pretty nice Saison from an inexperienced local brewery. Appearance is a cloudy orange with good lacing from the white head. The aroma is orange peel and mild spice. A little light on the normal banana ester, but not necessarily a bad thing. Flavor is refreshing orange peel and a bit tart. Finish is quite short and dry.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at BAM Fest. Pours with a murky golden hue with a small white head that lasts. Aromas are phenolic, clove, pepper and citrus peel (some orange and lemon notes). A bit grainy and straw like on the malt character. Flavors are grainy and a bit astringent (tannic extraction). Grassy and very bitter. Citrus peel and pith. Light bubbles, dry finish with some unpleasant astringency. Not a bad first attempt.
