Blah. I normally love pale ales. One of my faves is New Glarus Moon Man. This one however wasn’t well balanced. Too much hoppiness and don’t get me wrong, I love me some hops. Too bitter. Their seasonal IPA wasn’t bad so I stuck with that and a surprising thunderoad pilsner that had some tasty hops in it.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter. Appearance is a hazy amber with a one finger width off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves nice sheets of lacing down the side of the glass. Aroma is herbal and resinous with a light bready presence. Taste is lightly bitter with a touch of paper toward the end of the sip. Kind of bland really. Dry finish with a lingering paper/bitter aftertaste.

Appalachian pale ale.
Golden w/ a small white head
A+F are kinda tart... Gf, orange, mild pine waxiness and sweet grain/caramel. Med body prickly from hops. Something in here doesnt sit well... Similar to west coast ipa... Sweetness + odd hops=meh.
