Tap at EBF. Pours a hazy woody brown with a thinning soda-head. Aroma is earthy, nutty caramel, a touch of woody earth, and light chocolate. Flavor is earthy, light hint of woody smoke and nuts, medium chocolate sweetness and a lively slightly phenolic finish. I didn’t get any bacon unfortunately.

Tap at EBF. Chewy almond, chalk in the aroma, perhaps a bit fatty, but I’d never say that if it didn’t say it had bacon in it. Very bright, lively carbonation, but of course, no bacon. Basically just a brown ale, and a mediocre one at that.

EBF 2010 Session One: Hazy copper pour with a tan film that retains well. Sweet crystal malt aroma- bready and chewy with mild smoke presence and caramel. A touch fizzy in the body (too carbonated for the style IMO). Sweet crystal malts with a toasted bred crust presence. Mild caramel. There’s only a kiss of smoke. Decent, just not enough bacon character!
