Native to northern Europe, Baltic porters evolved from British porters once exported to the Russian hinterland. Unlike their British cousins, Baltic porters are often brewed as lagers, the tradition we’ve followed. This beer is big, bold & smooth, with malty flavors reminiscent of coffee, dark fruit & raisins. Poured from a 22oz bottle into a goblet. Quite dark, half inch of tan head. Looks beautiful. Just holding my nose over it I get some caramel, once I breath in it is roasted malt and cocoa. Noticeable alcohol taste. Malty all over. Roasted and a bit of burned malt taste. Oh wow. Smooth and creamy with almost no carbonation at first and then just a light amount at the end. Practically perfect. A great balance of flavor and BIG BEERness to make this a fireside sipper or a more regular drink.

Really good. Strong malty roasted aroma. Beautiful and dark with a nice head and lacing. Big flavor with dark malts, vanilla and some coffee. Complex but exactly what one would hope for.

Taster at the source. Pours coffee brown/black with a beige head. Aroma is dark fruit, bittersweet chocolate. Flavor follows. Tons of rich semisweet chocolate, a bit of date. Coffee grinds and a bit of pine bitterness finish this off.

Au nez, il y a de la mélasse, riche, caramel et bcp de grains. En bouche, c'est épais, crémeux, amer, caféiné et vanillé. La finale est crémeuse, alcoolisée, vanillé et sucre d'orge. Bien bon! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Really nice dusty cocoa on the nose and taste. High ABV is well hidden. Great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I’m a fan. Nice roasty aroma. Semi sweet mild bitterness and smoky. Great coffee presence with a slight chocolate note. Very smooth medium body. I would drink this again without a question.

Pours a dark brown with a tan foam head. Aroma is fruity up front, with chocolate, roast, and alcohol. Flavor is sweet dark fruit, chocolate, and roast, with a lightly bitter finish. Tasty.

Strong alcohol notes right upfront on the nose with notes of fruity eaters and roast. Appearance is w dark brown with a small tan head with poor retention. Flavor has notes of coffee, licorice, dried dark fruit. Fusel alcohol notes are also present. Bitterness is medium high. Mouthfeel is full with medium carbonation. Overall, it's a decent beer. The fusel alcohol notes in the aroma and flavor are not pleasing though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ok beer nothing wow about it. Odd fruity/sweet taste that doesn't fit style. Very drinkable. Just not a Baltic porter ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle from Crossroads. Pours black with a finger of foamy tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and light roasted coffee. Taste of black malts, earth, nutshell, dark chocolate, vanilla, and hints of dark fruit. Finishes dry with a thicker mouthfeel. Solid
