Native to northern Europe, Baltic porters evolved from British porters once exported to the Russian hinterland. Unlike their British cousins, Baltic porters are often brewed as lagers, the tradition we’ve followed. This beer is big, bold & smooth, with malty flavors reminiscent of coffee, dark fruit & raisins. Pours dark and near-black with a lot of dense, dark brown foam. Aroma is malty and strong... full of coffee and a slight licorice/anise character. Flavors are malty and kind of earthy/woody with a good herbal hop bitterness to balance things out. Very nice. Complex yeast character underneath it all. Really nice!

Pours black with ruby reflexes, medium head. Aroma: a well balanced aroma of coffee and dark malt, followed by bitter dark chocolate, a touch of caramel and dark fruit. Taste: again great balance, this time of coffee and bitter chocolate, dark malt, nice hoppy palate, leaving a pleasant dark chocolate taste. ABV well hidden. Fantastic brew.

Smooth beer. Really enjoyed the mouth feel in this one. Roasted marshmallows and dark chocolate notes that are very delicious. Good beer!

Pours a dark brown color with tan colored head. Coffee, roasted malts, and some dark fruit on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with plenty of roast and some nice sweet dark fruit tones.

Bottle from Drinkers Paradise NW5. Very dark brown/black, thin off-white foam. Smooth roasty chocolatey flavours with some coffee, and a nice bitterness cutting through. Slightly warming without tasting in any way hot, holds its abv nicely. Really nice.

Bottle from World Beer Market. Pours near black, low light tan head, some lacing. Rich, dark fruit aroma, raisins and plum, dark cherry, a booze note like port or sherry, light coffee. Strong malt flavour with dominant raisin, chocolate sweetness, drops off a bit mid-palate but lingering alcohol warmth. Fairly smooth, medium body, quite flat carbonation. Very nice sipper.

Bottiglia. L’aroma in bocca riporta sentori cereali, liquirizia, arrostito, frutta secca, etilico e alcol presente.
