COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Native to northern Europe, Baltic porters evolved from British porters once exported to the Russian hinterland. Unlike their British cousins, Baltic porters are often brewed as lagers, the tradition we’ve followed. This beer is big, bold & smooth, with malty flavors reminiscent of coffee, dark fruit & raisins. Had this 22oz bottle during a Christmas tasting w/ my buds. Very roasty and is dominated by it’s sweet, robust malty flavors. Hints of dark fruit and oaky tones with a very dry aftertaste.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle. Opaque, brown-black with a thin tan head and good lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, roasted malt, chocolate, raisins and burnt caramel. Bottle 355ml. Served at room temperature. Pours jet black. Head is small, espresso coloured and mostly lasting. Aroma is of roasted malts, chocolate pudding, burnt brown sugar, caramelized dates, rum soaked prunes, salted liquorice, treacle, and vanilla pods. Flavour is slightly vinous/acidic with a light earthy/toasted bitterness; strong espresso (black), roasted barley, liquorice liqueur chocolates, burnt blueberry toast, raisins, dried cherries, hints of leather and some smokey/ash notes in the finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation, an oily texture and a long, dry finish.

From bottle. Pours black with small brown head. Liquor, nuts, herbs, chocolate, roasty, coffee, milky note. Sticking lips, long and big aftertaste, carbonation too high for me, but few shakes made it flatter, warming note of alcohol. Amazing.

Pours a rich black-brown from a bottle. I’m getting dark chocolate, dried cherries in the nose, similar flavor with a bit of sherry. Also, I swear it tastes a little like chocolate pudding on the finish, like a good one made with dark chocolate. Very good beer.

D’ampolla al BBF-Lab Barcelona 2016. Cervesa amb aromes torrats de cafè, alcohol i figues amb un punt d’axidació. Cos mig-alt. Molt bona.

Pours black with ruby reflexes, medium head. Aroma: a well balanced aroma of coffee and dark malt, followed by bitter dark chocolate, a touch of caramel and dark fruit. Taste: again great balance, this time of coffee and bitter chocolate, dark malt, nice hoppy palate, leaving a pleasant dark chocolate taste. ABV well hidden. Fantastic brew.
