3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle in a snifter. Pours deep copper with a lacy, cream-colored head. Aroma strong of cereal malts with hints of toastyness, bread, and nuts, and enough piny/grassy hops to balance it out. A nice blend of a strong barleywine with a lot of hops. Thicker texture. A really good beer.

2011 bottle. Orange-red pour with a light tan head. Aroma is hoppy, sweet malt, and fruity. Taste is very pleasant. Light fruit, nice hop finish. Creamy mouth feel. I bet this will age nicely. A little hot still.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Deep amber orange pour with a thin line of foam. Aroma is very sweet and caramely with an intense fruity character as well. There is a bit of cherry and sweet citrusy hops with the malts. Alcohol Warming seems to intensify the fruit, and sweetness. The flavor is nice, but not as well balanced as the aroma might suggest. A little "thin" for a Barleywine, but it tastes good. I wonder what a little age would do for this one?
