3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rich attractive amber color, a bit cloudy. Head: Ka-Bloom! Way too carbonated, big bubbles with off-white color. Not much lacing. Good aroma and better flavor. Not that complex a flavor, but a pretty good barley wine, especially considering price.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Orange with small white head. Aroma grassy hops, malt, a little booze. Medium full body, alcohol there but not overwhelming. Flavor is bitter and hoppy, citrus and herbs, some malt in the background. A good beer, I found it indistinguishable from a double IPA.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Had this on tap originally spring 2012 somewhere in NYC. Found it in bottles today at Readington Wine and Spirits in East Whitehouse Station, NJ.
A: Cloudy...deep copper color.
S: Sweet...caramel...no hoppy aromas.
T: Bitterness is very subtle...sweet...maple syrup...brown sugar...light on the hops...bitter on the backend. Very yummy!
M: Medium light body. Light effervescence. Not clear when this bottle was filled but sometime between 2007 and 2011.
O: I love British barleywines. Iím finding a number of American barleywines that I really dig too and this is up there in my top two or three. I had looked for this in bottles for over a year and found it today. Had on tap last year. Iíll have to get more when Iím back at this store. Oh, itís a happy day!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from 2003 thanks to Paul at Brianís suprise birthday tasting. Pours clear amber without any head. Aroma is hugely boozy with notes of dark fruits. Really in your face booze. Taste is caramel, fruits, raisins and slight booze. The alcohol profile is alot less prominent in the taste than the aroma. Holds up well.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy blood orange with a medium white head. Aroma of citrus hops, tropical pitted fruits, other fruity esters, and some bready caramel malt. Flavour is very complex, full of a range of fruits (pitted fruits, peaches), fairly bitter dry citrus hops, and some caramel malts. Extremely deep and rich flavour profile, with everything working in great harmony. Finishes fruity and quite hoppy, more hopped than a traditional barley wine. Excellent barley wine - much better than the average suggests.
