jake65 (1657), Williston, North Dakota, USA May 25, 2008 Bottle: Golden pour with a nice frosty haze, smaller beige head. Aroma is bright with grassey hops and light citrus. Not a much bitters as I had hoped for, but still a fair amount of grassey and resinlike qualities. Some modest alcohol presence. Brian2000 (14), Canada May 25, 2008 Amber colored with a cirtusy aroma. Medium mouthfeel. Overwhelming hop taste with a bit of malty sweetness. Alcohol well hidden. GAManiac (1123), Atlanta, Georgia, USA May 24, 2008 Pours a bright, slighty hazy orangish amber with a big puffy off-white head that showed excellent retention and nice lacing. The slightest swirl builds a one-finger head back up. Great looking beer. Very balanced aroma with big citrus grapefruit and lemon smell up front balaced with some nice bready malts and caramel as well. Taste follows the smell pretty consistently with the big grapefruit hop bitterness up front which gives way to the caramel malts before the hops take back the taste with a slightly resiny finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with strong carbonation leaving the mouth coated in creamy, hoppy goodness. I found this beer to be extremely drinkable given its really well balanced taste. This is a great example of the style and I would seek it out - highly recommended. abcfan (244), New Jersey, USA May 24, 2008 Tried to go a few rounds with big A, he was kicking my butt in the beginning, but I cam back in the late rounds to finish him off! Pour a clear orange-yellow color with a nice white head. Aroma was pine, citrus and honey with hops, hops, hops! Very nice IPA great hoppy flavor with just enough malt to balance it out. Would drink again. DocHop (278), Baltimore, Maryland, USA May 20, 2008 Pours a slightly hazy, glowing golden honey with a tall off-white head that leaves a ring around the glass. Deliciously sweet apricot, pine, and citrus hop aroma. Taste is mildly sweet with some honey at first but is overpowered by the big hop finish and lingering dry bitterness. A lot of alcohol in the flavor until it warms up and you get used to it. Vas19 (293), Maryland, USA May 20, 2008 Pours amber with a thick off-white head. Pine and citrus hop aroma. Flavor is more of the same with a lingering hop finish. Not overly bitter. Solid DIPA. BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA May 19, 2008 Bottle acquired via trade with jjpm74...Thanks bud!!! Although this IPA is aggressively hopped, there isn’t anything in the flavor profile that separates it from the pack. Thick honey colored brew with a pale yellow dense foam head. The aroma is primarily douglas fir with sour grapefruit. Flavor follows but lacks a little malt to eliminate the pucker. A good beer...just not exceptional. BückDich (4785), McCall, Idaho, USA May 13, 2008 Bottle: Hazy gold color, nice white head, and excellent lacing. Nose of nice ripe earthy grapefruit, light grass and more pine and nutty malt notes. The flavor is strong, ample alcohol, sweet nutty caramel and a pleasant earthy hops. Nice tangy finish with a pleasant mouthfeel. Good IPA! Really fresh, I needed this!
