For our hopping regime we went with Cascade and Nuggets in the boiling addition. Centennials were added every 5 minutes for the last 30 minutes of the boil. We added Crystals into the whirlpool. Dry hopping was done in both the fermentor after primary fermentation and the bright tank. We used a mixture of Chinook, Nuggets, and Sterlings in the fermentors and whole leaf Centennials in the bright tank.

Very good stuff for the hops lover. Big floral and citris aromas with very assertive hops up front punched down by full bodied malt, earthy towards the finish. Does not leave overly lingering bitterness. Hazy, yellow-orange, big head - appetizing!

Very hoppy Ipa. Really good. Pours yellow in color. Cloudy. Well balanced. Smooth tasting beer. Enjoyable.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2004 2004: Cask at Andy's. Slightly cloudy yellow with floaties. Massive hops in the aroma. So much so, that the scent seems to morph into whatever you want to make it. Sneekers, old socks, grass, pine forest, grapefruit, and the list goes on. Aggressive palate stomping flavor. Bitterness. Hop flavor. Big malt sweetness. And being warm off of a hand pump, way way too dangerously drinkable and smooth. Would like to challenge this with the DFH 90 min side by side. 2003:Yellow orange with a white head. Cloudy with lots of floaties. Floral aroma with alcohol notes. Smooth malty beer with a big hoppy flavor and gentle bitterness. Slight alcohol burn in the background. Interesting and decent. 3.3 rating for this version

Almost too heavy snd syrupy of a body - beautiful color, tons of yeast. Very spicy yeasty, very sweet fruity hop, very sticky sweet malt (toffee X 10) - gets some iron and earth bitterness late in finish when warm - good but not my fave kind of IPA.

Bottle (thanks to The_Beer_God for the trade). Poured cloudy orange amber with minimal head and a trace of lacing. The aroma is heavily hoppy - citrus and pine - with a nice carmel sweetness and cloves. Flavor is well balanced, wonderful toasty malts upfront with the hops slamming in with a nice bite and puckering finish. Mouthfeel is excellent, smooth and full with light carbonation. Overall a really nice brew - well up there on my list of Imperial IPA's. Yum!

The beer once unstowed from the bottle pours to a “Sumerian Tranced” orange color, heavily laden with dross, both in suspension and slowly settling to the bottom, head is gargantuan in size, creamy in consistency and the color a toothsome light tan and after transmogrification a thick and sticky sheet of lace forms to obscure the glass from view. Monstrous hop floral nose, citrus crisp, under pinned by the sweet malt, fresh and pleasing to the senses, start is thickly malt, lightly sweet and the top middling in feel. “ZAP, ZING, ZOW” hops slap your taste buds to life, massively hopped, delectably bitter to the senses, bleached desert bone dry. Hop spiciness remains till the very end then some, “Awesome” is a word that comes to mind.

Thin head. Nice golden cloudy body. Hops/grass/lemon nose. Very hoppy and very sweet. Better on tap than from a bottle.

Thanks to Jah "Santa" Noth for this one-- Cloudy copper, with a small white head. Fruity apricot nose with sweet caramel touches. Flavor dominated by citric hoppiness. There's a bit of sweet malts underneath, but not quite enough to effect a total balance.

Nice cratered head of fine bubbles with decent carbonation. Excellent lacing. Color is a murky orange/amber. Big hops aroma with maybe a hint of orange. Flavor is very smooth and not overwealming with the hops. Very well balanced. Slight alcohol presence. Finish is bitter (grapefruit) with a nice creamy artertaste. A very good quality IPA that is not as harsh as some others.

Husky citrus hops fuel the tastebuds...Pine notes prick the tongue...Very similar to and one-dimensional like Magic Hat's HiPA...Well-made, bitter quaffing...
