Strong hops presence in the aroma. Fresh citrus. Very heavy bodied, thick biscuity. Very strong citrus flavor and burn to go with it. You had better be a serious hop head to put your lips on this. I love it. Drink4Satan (585), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 18, 2007 Pours an apricot nectar colour with no head, even when agitated. Smells DELICIOUS, like fresh grapefruit, raisin, and sweet malt. The flavour is what brings out the bitterness, but mostly in the initial tatse. The finish is dry, but with far more malt presence than expected. The hop bitterness lingers for a while after each sip. The carbonation is a little weak, and it gets weaker as you drink it; very quickly. The body is full and the texture is velvety. Decent for a double IPA, but not outstanding. Begins with a strong sweet malt, grapefruit, hoppy bitterness aftertaste, Alchohol is apparent. Full Body. Not complex but flavorful. emerica56 (579), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 18, 2007 This beer pours a nice cloudy orange with no head to it at all. There is a nice hoppy smell with hints of fruit. THere is a very boozy taste that is bitter and hoppy. You can also pick up some hints of apricots and there is a nice bitter after taste that sticks around in the back of your mouth for a while. alexanderj (2227), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 17, 2007 Bottle. Poured an orange amber. Aroma of hops; somewhat metallic and a little harsh. Flavor had a strong malt and hop profile. Hops were a little harsh; mellowed a bit. Really enjoyed the malts; a little sweet. Not one of my favorite for the style, but i like the style. So i enjoyed this. golubj (1286), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 17, 2007 Bottle. Aroma of citrus hops and metallic hops. Initial flavor is of slightly sweet, smooth malt, followed by some harsher malt and metallic hops. Pretty flavorful overall, but could have had better tasting hops. Aroma is packed with pineapple and heavy citrus, plus a bit of floral hop thrown in for good measure. Taste has a nice bit of flowery-pine mixing with sweet malt and some citrusy flavors. Good stuff - My only real complaint is the alcohol flavor/feel that I get with this beer (and the old bottles of Rogue I2PA). Nice DIPA. wheninhell (486), louisville, Kentucky, USA
