Commercial Description:
For our hopping regime we went with Cascade and Nuggets in the boiling addition. Centennials were added every 5 minutes for the last 30 minutes of the boil. We added Crystals into the whirlpool. Dry hopping was done in both the fermentor after primary fermentation and the bright tank. We used a mixture of Chinook, Nuggets, and Sterlings in the fermentors and whole leaf Centennials in the bright tank.

[bottle - 22 oz] Semi-cloudy orange color with a very thin but lasting head. Nice glass lacing. Very floral and hoppy aroma, with some hints of citrus fruits. The flavor begins with some sweet malts and alcohol, then goes to a sweet and hoppy middle and a very bitter and peppery hop finish with a nice warming alcohol end. Thick and chewy.

On tap at Ortinos Northside. Poured a very cloudy brown/orange with a small tan head, looked like a nice apple cider. Aroma is citrus, orange and some apple even. Flavor is alcohol, malts slightly roasted and citrus. The palate was a bit thick, but nicely done. Dry hopped.

Cloudy orangish-gold with a large head. Citrusy aroma. Excellent hop flavor. Almost as good as their IPA.

GABF 2005. Bright golden with a massive, off-white head. Orange and nectarine aroma. Fresh pine and nice white vanilla cookie backbone to the flavor, a decent balance. Very good, but lacking the hop complexity of some of the other IIPA’s I tried at the festival.

Smooth, easy drink. Light colour, good grapefruit and other fruity aroma. Small head. Grassy, piney. More oily than Juicy, well malted, carmel there. So not mouthpuckering. Engaging medium mouthfeel. Mellow overall but still Hophead fix. Dry aftertaste.

Cloudy golden color with thin white head. Perfumy citrus nose with notes of grapefruit. Nicely bodied with a smooth, creamy texture. Tasty grapefruit, tangerine, and citrus flavors with a long lasting punch of hops in the finish. A notch below their IPA but overall it’s good stuff.

Shiney and clear reddish gold. Almost scotch-like. Thin white head. Perfumey start with some pine and citrus soon accompanying it. Piney alcohol with a nice sweet caramel backing. Rind and fresh grass or maybe green herbs in the finish. Some sweet orange liquor too. Good stuff.

bomber, bonus bottle from OldGrowth in a recent trade, Thank you Tom! I enjoyed this one so I don’t mean to be overly critical, but.....it seemed a bit one dimensional. aroma was of grassey grapefruit. appearance was an orangey-yellow with a fast fading white head. yes it was big in alcohol and hops but where was the malt? a really nice IPA in flavor, just wish it would have been balanced a bit more with some malt.
