For our hopping regime we went with Cascade and Nuggets in the boiling addition. Centennials were added every 5 minutes for the last 30 minutes of the boil. We added Crystals into the whirlpool. Dry hopping was done in both the fermentor after primary fermentation and the bright tank. We used a mixture of Chinook, Nuggets, and Sterlings in the fermentors and whole leaf Centennials in the bright tank.

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2014 Aroma of pineapple and grapefruit, citrus, alcohol and a touch of honey. Taste of citrus pine biscuit malt, grapefruit juicyness. They keep the juiciness well balancedcwith resinous pine characteristics. Works very well. This years is great. This beer should be rated yearly not as just itself. I donít think they have used the same recipe twice and I highly doubt more than that. Always one of my favorites. This one is very well balanced without compromising complexity.

wish list beer, 2 months old. Tons of hops and tons of bitterness in this one, to the point they keep this beer from being better. the slightly sweet pineapple aroma and flavor are relagated to the background by the intense bitterness. decent, but iíd like to taste the beer juuust a tad more. 2nd/3rd time around - not really aging well, even though it doesnít have much age on it. overrated in the high 90ís...probably done with this beer after the 4-pack. the weird bitterness just a bot off putting, and i like unapologetic bitter beers."

65 cl bottle. Pours a hazy gold with medium, creamy head. Really nice fresh hops in aroma: pine, resin, cream, citrus and some alcohol. Same taste notes + a gentle tone of fresh ground black peppers. Long finish with lingering bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Bottle). Sweet scent of flowers, tropical fruits and hops. Taste of grapefruit, pine, tropical fruits and raisins. Realy nice beer, but the finish is too sweet and sticky with too much taste of alcohol.

A cloudy golden orange colored beer. Has a nice big foamy head that is well maintained throughout drinking session. Big toffee malt aroma and a citrusy hop bouquet. Big alcohol taste I get up front with thick chewy malts. No distinct flavor. Hops of grapefruit and citrus. Smooth and full bodied. A dry ending. Alcohol warming that lingers in the aftertaste. A good sipping beer, I donít know if I could drink more then two in one sitting. It is flavorful and balanced and warming.

Drank from the bottle. Aroma is hay, corn, malt, and hops. Taste is grapefruit, bread, and pine. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, moderate lingering bitterness. Okay, definitely not my favorite.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a snifter and a tulip several different times and there really isnít much difference between the two glasses. The appearance was a nice hazy golden orange to brown color with a gentle half finger-ed white foamy head that dissipated within about thirty seconds. The lacing was thin and soapy and just fell right into the beer without any sort of effort to stick to the sides of the glass. The smell seemed separated as there were times when I could smell some grapefruit like hops and then there were times when I could get sweet malts. The taste was mainly sweet with a kind indulgent sweetness overcoating my taste buds nicely. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a somewhat decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed okay for the style and for me as it had a good harshness but also had a decent smoothness about it. Overall, uh, well it fits the style but just doesnít seem to be a standout. Iíd probably only have again if offered.

Rated from notes taken 7 Jun 2011 -- Given to me for a birthday present. This beer is an amazing IPA. One of the first IPAs I truly craved.
