For our hopping regime we went with Cascade and Nuggets in the boiling addition. Centennials were added every 5 minutes for the last 30 minutes of the boil. We added Crystals into the whirlpool. Dry hopping was done in both the fermentor after primary fermentation and the bright tank. We used a mixture of Chinook, Nuggets, and Sterlings in the fermentors and whole leaf Centennials in the bright tank.

Bottle, 65cl - Hazy amber orange beer with a large head. Aroma is fruity with notes of passion fruit, citrus, dank herbs and onions. Flavor is fruity with notes of citrus, herbs, grass, alcohol and caramel. Powerful and bitter hop punch.

Bottle. Brown/gold with a small, off white head. Mild, citrusy hop aromas. Bitter, a bit syrupy and highly hoppy.

The beer pours a hazy caramel orange color with a nice head. American hops jump out on the nose with grapefruit as the most prominent aroma followed by lighter notes of lemon, orange, and the noticeable strength of the alcohol. As with good Imperial IPAs, the malty sweetness balances the intensely citrus hop and provides a medium body and slightly silky mouthfeel after the carbonation washes away. This is a nice example of an Imperial IPA that gets better as you let it open up and let the ethanol notes dissipate but unfortunately doesn’t have as much depth as I like to see in this style.

Bottle Best By 03/10/14. Nose of leafy floral, piny hops, lightly resinous and only sparingly citric, shies away from newer-fangled tropical highlights. Does have a bunch of dough in the glass. Pours hazy orange-golden with a dense, sudsy beige head. Taste of medium-strong bitterness, medium-dry with some cool resinous and astringent accents, even if they’re a little sharp. Dough and pine, orange peels and floral character that is subdued at first but pick up with volume. Smooth and rounded medium body. Alcohol is utterly, utterly hidden, whoooooa what a dangerous thing! Clean, cleansed palate, a little juicy but more of a solid caramel foundation -- happy to have an IPA with a real sense of malt possibility, like the East Coasters are known for :)

Very hazy light orange with two fingers of whitish head. Big hop aroma, floral, resinous, pine, grapefruit. Taste is like the nose, with a pretty good punch of bitterness. Smuttynose doesn’t go light on the bitterness with their IPAs. This really is like a vamped up version of Finestkind, but a bigger aroma on this one, much more floral as well, definitely getting a lot of Centennial and Sterling. Good stuff.

Bottle from systembolaget enjoyed at home. Hoppy and well hidden alcohol. Didnt realise this was a over 9% before i felt a bit dizzy and read it on the bottle. Perfect beer!

Smak och doft av malt, humle, aprikos, honung, karamell och citrus. En aning trött humle men för övrigt en trevlig IPA. Fruktig, välbalanserad med lagom sötma. Trevlig beska.
