Smuttynose Big A IPA

Cloudy amber color with a medium off-white head. The aroma was nice and bready...citrus hops character throughout. The flavor was not nearly as bitter as I expected...sweet bready/yeasty tones with a solid citrusy hops bitterness. The feel was slightly thick, but very crisp...dry finish.

Pours out a nice reddish hued amber with a frothy white head. It immediately smacks you with hop aroma. The taste is suprisingly well balanced, but still mostly hoppy with notes of citrus. Not a bad brew

Bottle courtesy of Rudolf. Nice deep amber color, near reddish. Nice fluffy off-white head. Good lacing. Aroma is purely hops. Very floral and light. Perhaps some malt sneaks in the aroma. Initially taste is sweet malt and then a long withdrawn bitterness from the hops. Almost overdone on the hops but not quite. Definitely would have again.

A powerhouse of an IPA. Very spicy and complex! It is abrasive from start to finish. A touch sour. Slightly nutty. Nutmeg. Orange peel. Apple peel. Even some clove and menthol. Almost bitter. Licorice. Autumn.

Dull-orange body with mild carbonation and a tight uniform off-white head. Aroma of prominent caramel malt and some spicy/woody notes including cinnamon. Nice warm spicy flavor with cookie dough qualities and nice, refined hop bitterness. Has a very palatable malt texture. This DIPA seems to have an English twist, making it quite novel and damn good.

Very sweet, malty aroma with some hops. Pretty bitter up front. Finish quite bitter as well. Not really my type of IPA, just can’t quite put my finger on why.

Dark Orange. Vibrant, citrusy aroma of grapefruit, dripping pine needle and also some nice floral and grassy hops, almost English in a way. Phenomenal, sugary deep biscuit and caramel malt flavor along with hints of mainly English tasting hops; pine and grapefruit. Fantastic and unique. I loved this.
