3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz. bottle. Some interesting suspended yeast in this honey golden beer. A creamy almost white head slowly fades. The nose is citrusy fruit. That is also a big component in the flavor. That flavor is huge. Massive amounts of hops and caramel malts to match. Bitterness is significant and it comes, in part, from the grapefruit flavor. But that is almost a secondary hop note. There are so many hop flavors. All kinds of floral notes with citrus and pine. Nothing here is subtle, or perhaps there is so much "big" going on that subtlety is left in the dust. Alcohol becomes apparent late. This is good.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This pours murky orange and you canít see through it. Itís a dirty orange color with golden hues. It has a finger of creamy foam that fell fast and left a ring and thin film on top. Decent lace. Nose is not easy to discern. Spice and grass, herbal and dank but not too much fruit. Tart citrus and a peach or soft stone fruit sweetness way in the background. Hardly any pine.
Taste is a little bland. Thereís plenty of herbal and grass, some spice - moderate spice in fact but hardly any fruit. Then as you search for it you notice a tart citrus and are so glad because where is the fruit? There is a substantial malt character that is plenty sweet and makes for a supple and medium mouthfeel. Caramel as it warms. That also make s me glad. There is some pine in the drink and itís pine needles. There is a moderate bitter. Now this bitter canít justify itself in contrast to all the lingering fruit sweetness because the fruit was tart so itís a sharp and pretty strong bitter. Astringent with a dry finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Verbatim from notes 16AUG11
Bottled Apr, 2011
A: Apricot ale with single finger off-white foam. this falls to a broken sheet. cloudy. Spotty lace.
S: lots of hop - spicy. Jeez, itís like Iíve been drinking only beer with cascades and maybe simcoe (but the hops are pelletized and unboiled - harsh). Biscuit malt on the back end.
T: nicely bitter with grapefruit and citric rinds. then the biscuit malts come thru and open up with a buttery malt profile on the finish.
M: Thick for the style, moderate carb. Medium slick on the finish.
O: drinkable, but wouldnít want too much given the ABV. Average.
Serving type: bottle

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours orange-gold with a thick off white head. Aroma is faint mango and honeydew melon. Likewise, the taste has that sweet melon/mango flavor followed by some substantial bitterness for the finish. Flavors are well balanced.

On tap in a flight at Ale Yeah! Pour copper, with a small, tan head. The aroma is molasses, pine sap, oak, and some floral notes. Very sweet and very bitter flavor, but the sweetness is more dominant. Heavy body, sticky and syrupy. Overall, this is a nice, malty IIPA.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Hazy, amber to yellow, beer with a two finger high, fluffy, head.
Nose: Pine, tropical fruit, grass, caramel, butter, herbs and pineapple.
Taste: Grapefruit, hops, pine, citrus, bread and malt.
Nice bitterness to the end. Ligth carbonated. Full body. ABV 9.8 % is hidden well.
A great DIPA although I canít understand the high score (99) here on ratebeer. Maby itís because my beer is to tired after the trip from the States to Sweden...?
Well Iím going to Florida in just a few hours so maby Iíll try a fresher version :)

Pint on tap came out golden just a bit hazy with a light white head. Taste is hops with some citrus nothing too special. However the alcohol does not come through so I guess that is the notable accomplishment. So pleasant enough if a hoppy big beer is what you want.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2013 Från Systembolaget, lite trött (?) så aromen är troligen inte vad den borde vara. Men annars en högst trevlig dipa.
