COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For our hopping regime we went with Cascade and Nuggets in the boiling addition. Centennials were added every 5 minutes for the last 30 minutes of the boil. We added Crystals into the whirlpool. Dry hopping was done in both the fermentor after primary fermentation and the bright tank. We used a mixture of Chinook, Nuggets, and Sterlings in the fermentors and whole leaf Centennials in the bright tank.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy orange color with a thin pillowy white head. Not much aroma. Mostly malt and some light grapefruit and lemon notes. Taste is really bitter grapefruit, lemon rind, apricot, and a spicy booziness on the finish.

This is an imperial for sure -- the A stands for ABV, which I'd a whopping 9.2. Resiny, pine-forward DIPA. Not a bad malt backbone. Subdued bitterness. Recommended! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Meh. I applaud this dive-ish bar for stocking better beers. This was poured draft into an ice cold 30 ounce mug. Soo I’ll be hammered by the time this is done. Not much aroma probably due to the mug. Taste is definitely hoppy, some alcohol burn. I’m pretty sure this was better last time I had it.

Received in trade with Homer321, thanks man! Pours a hazy dark gold with a decent size head that leaves a surprising amount of lacing behind. Aroma is slight and basically light citrus and pine. Flavor is massively hoppy. Every type of hop (citrus, pine, earth, just plain bittering hops) are all combined in this monster of an IIPA. The palate is perfect for a IIPA nice and sticky and thick. This leaves behind a huge bitter aftertaste. If memory serves Palate Wrecker and Ruination don’t leave this level of hop bitterness behind. Overall this is a pretty darn good IIPA, the level of hops is immense and this weighs in at 120 IBUs which is not a big surprise. Glad I have 4 bottles and 2 more on the way cause I am digging this!

Draft at Capones. Pours a lightly cloudy gold with thick, fluffy, off white head and web lacing. Nose of grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine. Nice hop taste, good bitterness, some sweet honey malts. Solid

UPDATED: APR 29, 2013 From poorly taken notes. Better than most ipas for me but not at level of dipa. Light citrus in aroma and flavor. Med palate. Shitty notes easy to drink with good balance

Golden color but cloudy, chock full of yeast sediments. Strong pepper hop smell with plenty of citrus fruits. Good malty backbone balances the powerful peppery palate. Earthy blend of fruits smooth out the bitter back end. Great tasting DIPA that packs a punch! Now say that 5 times fast.

Pours hazy orange with lots of floating yeast bits. Head is nice creamy beige excellent lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, pine and bread. Bitterness follows a sweet body, with hints of caramel, brown sugar and toffee. Hints of malt but mostly a smooth hop flavor with average carbonation and a bitter finish.

Smells Piney. grapefruit and pineapple from various hop aromas. Cloudy unfiltered and bubbly from the pour, from 12oz. bottle Best by 7/16/13 so fresh. Quite bitter and hoppy, more just a piney taste any fruity elements are blind to the tongue. Has a thick body and is well carbonated. Finishes dry and bitter, hides the monster abv and has some complexity to it, For IPAs with high ABV, this is one of the best I’ve had

I get lemon or lemongrass and maybe a bit of a sweeter tropical fruit in the aroma. A bit of dough. Some malt. Flavor is hugely bitter right off. It’s a dry bitterness without a lot of complexity. Like white grapefruit but muted in the citrus department. There’s a bit of malt to it, but the showcase is the hops bitterness. I keep hoping for some other hop flavors to break through. Finish is slightly dry, slick, bitter, and seems to last forever. I finished the glass about four minutes ago and I can still feel it on the back of my tongue and my teeth. If you like piney, earthy, insanely bitter DIPAs, I’d say grab this one.
