Commercial Description:
A homage to traditional European beers brewed for quenching the thirst of farm workers of "Saisonaires." A unique Belgian Saison yeast is used to impart a mixture of spice, fruity and earthy notes along with a lip smacking palatability.

Thanks to jjpm. Hazy golden pour, medium white head. Aroma is spicy, all yeast. Flavor is floral hops, candi sugar, wheat and spicy belgian yeast. Soft mouthfeel with good carbonation. Grassy and lavender ntoes in the finish with some citrus notes. Damn good saison. Nice, citrus, floral, yeast collaboration.

Deep hazy golden amber coloured body with a nice sized dense tan head. Aroma of fresh malt, spices, hops and a bit of an alcoholic kick. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong alcoholic and malty taste with a good hop background and a potent spiceyness with some grassy notes noticeable. Aftertaste shows a bit more kick with some light sweetness near the end. Overall, a good beer - nothing too special, but good to try! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from K&E Discount Beverage in New Paltz, New York on 19-April-2008.

yummy beer- opaque honey coloration, gorgeous bubbly head. aroma has intense citrus, grapefruit, and yeast. flavor adds floral thoughts and lemon zest to this equation, very smooth- similar to a belgian white. dry finish, very drinkable, decent mouthfeel. very nice brew.

Pours hazy amber with huge head and great lacing. Nose of ctirus, and yeast- earthy and subtle. Very drinkable and refreshing, while still having great complexity and taste. This is great. Re-Rate: Lots of cirtus and spicy yeast. Thirst quenching and highly drinkable, with seemingly perfect mouthfeel for the style.

22 oz bomber served in my Smuttynose snifter. Pours a hazy golden amder color with a 1/2" white head. Moderate lacing coats my glass. Nose is bananna & mixed spices ( can’t really put my finger on it). Mouthfeel is lively with good carbonation & a tart fresh taste. The up front flavor is the Belgian yeast Smutty uses in this brew. Also, bananna, cloves, lemon & a slight hop presence. Alcohol is hidden behind all the aforementioned flavors. As I mentioned in discussing the mouthfeel, this beer is tart, clean & fresh. I drank it in March, but it would be a great summer beer.

22 oz bomber from Discount Liquors. Clear orange with a fluffy off white head. Lots of spice in the nose with malts and hefe notes. Creamy banana esters were not what I was expecting. Orange and lemon with pepper and a slight earthy funk. Lots of toasted malts underlying the flavors. Creamy wheat with a light lemon and banana sweetness. Pepper, spicy hops, earthiness. Decent beer. The slight funk/earthiness is a bit strange, but enjoyable.

Transparent and magnifying bright brass in color with a dust like fizz rising to feed an icy grey head. Aroma rises to the charge as well. Ginger, nutmeg, coriander and muskrit interweave with caramel and almond shells, encasing wheat stalks in the last summer season. Flavor produces a full array of much that is good in the world. Bright carbonation catches the tip of the tongue and then a hoppy edge interweaves with earthen spicing to balance the authority nicely. Almond sweetened honey oats treat with grains of paradise and a touch of ragweed over cracked wheat stalks. A trace of mustard seed imparts a rudimentary rawness over toasted grain while ginger and coriander impart the prevailing spicing. Fuller bodied like a good ol’ smutty, finishing with a numbed yet titillated afterlife that hums with coriander, honeyed wheat bran and ragweed hanging in the summer wind. Thanks for the bomber, tpkenned!
