Shared with blankboy, GregClow, jerc, mds and tupalev, jerc’s bottle. Clear gold-amber with a quickly diminishing white head. Spicy, herbal, fruity/malty aroma, plenty of mild yeast - nice! Simple but appealing soft flavour, sweet malt, lots of herbal/spicy character, with citrus zest, it kept subtly shifting around, never got boring, well done, really, good yeast profile. I found the body actually thick, quite surprising, just carbonated and astringent enough to keep the level of refreshment up - a well-made saison, nice and spicy, not too aggressive - this one and the Black Oak Saison here in Ontario (this year’s version, not the ’04 one) have been huge, pleasant surprises for me - thanks for sharing, Jer, and I’m glad I still have a bottle of this in my fridge. goldtwins (4079), Nesconset, New York, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 8, 2006 First of all, I don’t really see this as a Saison but I found it rather enjoyable. Aroma is somewhat malty with lots pear and banana scents. Large creamy white head with good lacing on top of an orange body. Heavy malty flavors from start to finish with lots of sweet banana flavors. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Light alcohol in the finish. Seems to be lacking some of the earthy funkiness of a lot of Saisons. jon112981 (327), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA
